I feel more disgusted than anything, instead...

I mean, here we are close to a form of "sport pedophilia"...

nobody will never convince me that boys and girls of this age should be allowed to compete against men and women who could really be their fathers and mothers...no way...

lucky escape for Shaun White and especially for the X-Games champion Ivan Federico (who must say thank you to the missing seeded athlete -who I don't know yet who is he- for his ticket to the semis, as he came only 17th in the quarterfinal round)...

There are the best in the sport though. Skateboarding isn’t like a lot of established sports. The community is very different. The same goes for other sports nowadays too. I would never stop athletes from competing simply because of their age. Also, it’s not pedophilia to let these athletes compete. If anything Skateboarding has had much less problems with that than Figure Skating, Bobsled, Gymnastics, Speed Skating, etc.

probably I'm heavily influenced by the Italian culture, but I do really think that all things have their own time to be done...

11 year old boys shouldn't be competing against adults...

actually, they shouldn't live their activity as a professional one (in terms of dedication and time spent on the board)...

meanwhile Shaun White, as expected, is being generously pushed by judges...

Women’s Gymnastics and Figure Skating would no longer exist if that first point was true.

Yeah, Shaun White is a good skater, but he’s not that good. I swear if he makes the final.

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
