just looking at the final results...

all 21 starters from the 5 top Countries (:POL:GER:AUT:SLO:NOR) ended up in the top 23 positions of the final ranking...

and the top 8 jumpers are from only 3 Countries: :POL:GER:AUT

the only 2 "intruders" are :UKR Marusiak (17th) and :SUI Deschwanden (19th)...

not exactly a sign of depth at the top of this game, I guess...

Personally i find it very surprising that the best ukrainian athlete finished higher than any athlete from Japan/Finland/Italy/France/USA. Not surprising that a sport that requires very expansive infrastructure has less competition. Obviously winter sports in general has less competition than summer sports. Still you also have summer sports with not much variety, for example slalom canoeing.

Pretty much the expected order. I think Norway, Germany, Slovenia and Austria all have the Potential to win. Japan winning a medal would be a bit surprising to me. Slovenia being closer to Japan than to Germany is surprising to me. On the other hand Germany and Austria are the only nations with no „weak gender“, Slovenia/Norway/Japan all have a bit of a problem on the men‘s side currently. Poland is missing World-class women and Canada is missing World-class men, a combined Team of those two nations could win gold.

6th in women’s team normal hill for :CAN Pretty good result for us.  Although I half expected us to finish around that number, considering I was pretty sure we would beat all (If not most) of France/China/United States/Poland.

15 teams promises an interesting race. Especially the fight for the final round 8. For the Czech team it would be a success with the current performances... Though if there'll be a second round today.

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
    • Wisła Płock just assumed 1st position after five consecutive draws. Must be first time ever a team on a five match winless streak actually moves up to league top.
    • Well ya, which is why the Egyptian and Iranian teams can shut up and dribble :P
    • The problem is, the World Cup is not a local event. Overall it's another storm in a teacup. LGBT rights in Muslim countries won't change a damn inch becuse of one soccer match in Seattle
