Mak just misses out on a medal unfortunately. 9.443 gives him a total of 18.683 but it's not enough to close the gap and he comes 4th

Games of scandales : Syrians have been kicked from the games just like Iran , some athletes from Kenya, and South Africans blocked in Italy cause they didn't got US  visa

no one critisize all that cause the host is usa

Btw 3 of our athletes were also denied visa. A couple in dancesport and a  female Sumo wrestler ,which would have been our debut in the 2 sports.  And got to know that visa issues for US is pretty bad. They reject visas without any reason be it in sports or education leading to various issues .

I was told a highlight of wushu competitions will be shown on the daily highlights, patiently waiting 17 minutes before being able to see the wushu pictogram only to find 10 seconds later the video suddenly skips to the TV opening sequence before showing the second part of the highlights. Amazing luck indeed for wushu fans.

And IWUF just busy showing Olympic Champion 1976 flirting with the athletes.

Might as well go outside and slap people for no reason to join the madness :smash:

3rd Slovak medal of the games secured, After Alexandra Filipová won her late night semifinal against top favorite Dajenka Meijer of :NED 2-1 and advanced to the Final of the -70kg W Kickboxing competition

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Team :SVK Day 6 Results

Wednesday 13th

KICKBOXING:

-52kg W

Quarterfinals

:SVK Monika Chochlíková  4 - 5  Klára Strnádová :CZE

Eliminated in Quarterfinals

The day started with an Enormous shock and incredible disappointment.

Our biggest star of the whole World Games team lost already in the quarterfinal to stop in the least convenient moment the like of million matches undefeated streak...

Huge disappointment.. Chochlíková lost to the Czech Strnádová after the decision of the judges, the game ended 4-4 after one of the judges assigned the win to Monika and the other one to the Czech girl, the third judge had the result tied, so all 3 judges had to meet again and decide about the winner, After a quite long period of deliberation they designate Strnádová as the winner of the match...

Monika Chochlíková will try to improve her mood in the Muay Thai, where she is also considered as one of the biggest favorites

Qualified to the Semifinals

Semifinals

:SVK Alexandra Filpová  2 - 1  Dajenka Meijer :NED

After the shock of the elimination of Monika Chochlíková our delegation however enjoyed the rest of the night, when Alexandra Filipová secured the 3rd :SVK medal of the games by advancing to the Gold Medal Bout, where she will face her well-known rival from :SRB Aleksandra Krstič.

In the quarterfinal she won over Polina Grossman of :ISR 3-0 (15:8, 16:6, 8:3) and later in the night she won also in a dramatic semifinal over the top favorite :NED Dajenka Meijer 2:1 to qualify for the Final and thus assure at least a silver medal for herself and her country.

Gold in boules. :cheer: Well done Jelovica. Funily enough, we performed better here than at the Mediterranean Games. :p

Also, another medal is secured as Anto Širić made the final in heavyweight kickboxing. Exciting stuff.

These will be, quite convincingly, the best WG to date for us.

Kickboxing should be kicked out of the games. What a boring sport where score increases and decreases live. Assume it's 3 judges scoring the game live and it changes live but displaying live 3-0 which changes to 0-3 in few seconds! What rubbish is this

It's based on accumulated points from each judge...

3:0 just means that the judges are (currently) unanimous, and not necessarily that one fighter is clearly leading. For example, a lead of 1-0 early in a match on one judge's scorecard can quickly change to 1-2 or something, which then changes the overall scoreboard as well.

OK guessed it was that way but showing live scores would be better. Maybe if 2/3 judges score a point

    • I think I can live with the draw , not a bad group at all. just a week ago our mafia coach said his dream group is Belgium, Egypt and Haiti, he almost got that !   but it's really hard for me (and so many others) to cheer for this team, A mafia boss coach, disgusting group of players. I never had this feeling about any NT in any sport before but still the national team is the national team. you have to like it  coaches and players come and go, the team is what matters.   if the team makes it to the competition, I'm sure there will be lots of Iranians in the stadium despite the orange's ban, that will never be a problem.
    • Belgium is the luckiest in this story
    • One of the worst possible draw for us. Group really easy but having to face  or  in the Round of 32 is devastating.
