I never expected to see a Dutch men's cycling world champion in my lifetime. Today is the day! A truly historic sporting moment for the Netherlands.

Well at least it gives an opportunity for a time trial rider to qualify should their nation not be in the top 45. More likely, it will go to the 46th nation which is currently :CRC though :CHN is right behind.

Yeah, this race was absolutely brutal. It's the Brits though: Harrogate 2019 had only 46 finishers :p  (with Van der Poel being a main candidate as well, but suddenly being absolutely roasted after a mistake in his feeding pattern)

Andrey Amador really fell behind badly recently, for :CRC vs :CHN to even be a thing...

Wait, :CRC and :CHN should qualify within the Top 45, no ? https://www.procyclingstats.com/rankings/me/uci-nations-olympic-selection

 

It is more about :SRB / :VEN  + maybe :HKG if removing rus
