Just now, phelps said:

frankly, with this 1-run format is more a lottery than a fair competition...

basically, every race is decided by mistakes and not by top performances...:nopompom:

and it's not good for heart if you are watching :d

. speed will be in 2024 Olympic program. I really hope they change the format by then. a best of 3 run won't take too much time.

Ludovico Fossali!!!!! it must really be his day...already twice winning by his opponent's false start...

this format sucks! we must admit that...they have to change it to the best-of-3...

by the way, this is the first ever final for Italy in the speed discipline...:cheer:

bronze for France among the women...thanks to Song's mistake...definitely not the day of the Chinese sensation, dominator of this year's world cup...

Aleksandra Miroslaw back to back world champion! :cheer:

she's been really good throughout the entire day...and now in the final she could stay calm after the impressive start of the Chinese girl (Niu Di) and make her class count...

    • Yeah. It was pretty bad that they cancel the contract with the original creative director after 7 months of work. I feel like politics, in this particular context of the changing of prime minister and the cabinet, may had caused changes in organizational decisions regarding the Sea Games including the direction of the opening ceremony.
    • That's what I figured.  Wouldn't be a proper lead up to an Olympics without some media-fueled fearmongering.
    • Today : Jordan 3-0 Egypt  This team will surprise us
    • option no.2 for sure, as it's been all this shitstorm organized by the nhl owners through their embedded reporters   ps not that the north american audience looks really aware of the hockey rules and habits outside the nhl (and around their game, too, since they look not to know that just a couple of weeks ago they played 2 nhl matches on an ice sheet of the exact same size of Milan's olympic arena)
    • Are we supposed to take Daly's word for it or is this just public posturing to try and shame the Milan organizers (which they certainly deserve for all the delays) in order to threaten NHL participation?
    • Well that was a disappointing opening ceremony. Not to mention the boss is late too...   Anyway this is another victim of bureaucracy, the initial creative director quit in October and we get this kind of show.   Original plan: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/17EVayTpig/
    • Japan missed their last shot with hammer in the 10th last night against the Philippines for them to stay alive.  USA's remaining 2 games are against Philippines and Netherlands, so they have a tough road ahead, although they've already beaten Japan, so that helps for tiebreaker purposes.
    • They have already beaten Japan, so a win would them in a strong place.
