Why are there always three different pictograms for equestrian?

Jumping, Dressage, Eventing

It comes from times not so long ago when the term of "discipline" was used in the Olympic Charter. Now there's only "sport" and "event" remaining.

Because there three different disciplines :yes

Same reason there’s two for BMX, three for Gymnastics, two for karate, etc.

At the IOC website wrestling freestyle and wrestling greco-roman are different too but baseball and softball are as one. The rules about which sport or event have a pictogram but the other don,t are unclear.

Greco-Roman should have its own, but it traditionally hasn’t at any multi-sports games, so that may be why.

Japanese Olympic committee head said if the coronavirus outbreak keep spreading, IOC agrees the Olympic Games could postpone to the end of 2020.

Source from Chinese media, but I think English news will be released soon.

In Dutch news it said something similar, but not entirely the same: they said the Japanese minister responsible for this has said the contract states the Games have to be held in 2020, meaning 'one can read that as a right to postpone it'.

Why can't they have it in spring/summer 2021, if things continue to be so bad?

Surely they can't be thinking of canceling the Olympics, because there are some Worlds or other events in 2021..

This is more of a reason to NOT move it to 2021 than to move it to 2021 :p

But the Olympics trumps everything. 95% of the sports would prefer the exposure of the Games, instead of their annual wrestling, judo, fencing etc. WC for which the general public could care less. Going 8 years without Olympics would be a huge blow for the smaller sports for me.

It would most likely just cost too much though. The financial pressure on Tokyo/Japan to keep the whole thing up for another full year is huge.
