Miracle year for France. Before this year they were complete trash in men's medley relay and now they found a fast fly and breast leg. Always amazing when nations just switch it on for their home olympics.

And 49.27 for Grousset on the fly leg, rather quick as well.

Edit: as Topicmaster noticed already, sorry :d

If you'd like to help our fellow Totallympics member Bruna Moura get to the 2026 Winter Olympics, after her car crash on the way to the 2022 Olympics, every tiny bit of help would be greatly appreciated! Full story and how to help can be found here!

Both our medley relay teams finished in 13th place. Hopefully it might be enough to qualify for the Olympics but it will be tight.

Also I’m hoping today is the day Ireland wins its first ever medal at the Aquatics World Championships :pope:

The women have nearly 4 seconds over the 19th placed team. I can’t see them being caught.

Also Track Cycling coming up in four days at the WC in Glasgow. Still doing fine. The hard week for me will be the bridge gap between the cycling WC and the athletics WC.

Sailing World Championship?

The 400 IM was the third fastest of all time...it’s hardly considered off.

More than a second slower than her PB, the trend is obvious for anyone who is able to look at her objectively. Her 200 m races were both PBs while her 400 m races were both at least a second behind her PB.

here in Italy the team events/relays always have a special place in the heart of the people and in the media

it's difficult to understand, but really, they are a lot more celebrated and remembered than any individual effort

look for instance at an incon like Valentina Vezzali, she's won more than most sportsmen in the history of all the sports, but it's the "dream team", the women's foil team that's always expected to deliver and consequently celebrated or criticized if they win or not

it's Jacobs that won the 100m in Tokyo, but it's the relay gold the most celebrated (Tamberi is a lot more known and supported as individual than Jacobs, just to say)

and I could continue

sometimes we're a strange Country...:dunno:

I would say team medals usually are more memorable for a country, unless the individual athlete is very popular (like Tamberi or Femke Bol). Maybe it's me, but in the Netherlands the 4x100m freestyle gold in Beijing is more famous than Kromowidjojo's individual medals in London as well. Or maybe we're all strange countries:dunno:

Not sure how many swimming fans care about track cycling, but swimming fans should care about the U23 european championships. Guys like Märtens or Wiffen will compete.
