intoronto 4,251 Posted August 9, 2023 #31 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Embarrassingly Canada lost to Germany in a warm up match. I get the chemistry isn't there and this is the first game, so hoping they can build on the chemistry! OlympicsFan

We were also without Jamal Murray, who (probably for resting purposes) chose to sit out of all exhibition games. Germany is a good team (IMO I think you're underestimating them), wouldn't put too much thought into this result. Do agree our chemistry could be an issue though. When did Canada last do anything internationally? Edited August 12, 2023 by OlympicsFan Attachment is the great fabricator of illusions; reality can be obtained only by someone who is detached. Your top players didn't play the 4th quarter because they got thrashed. Without them your team was looking much better. Also Germnany was up by 15 points or so at half and then sadly decided to take it easy, otherwise it probably would have been a blow-out. Henry_Leon 1,235 Posted October 24, 2023 #40 Share Posted October 24, 2023 Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv to play its EuroLeague home games in Belgrade (Serbia) In a meeting held in Istanbul, Turkiye, on October 24, the Euroleague Commercial Assets' shareholders have agreed that Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv will play all of its upcoming home games at Aleksandar Nikolic Hall in Serbia's capital, Belgrade. Maccabi will play its first home game there against FC Bayern Munich on November 9. Maccabi's Round 6 meeting with Real Madrid, which was originally scheduled for November 2, is suspended and will be played at a later date. This decision has been taken considering the impossible nature of hosting games in Tel Aviv due to security concerns derived from the ongoing armed conflict in the area. Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv has received the support of the Belgrade Municipality and the Serbian Government and will engage in conversations to plan the necessary security measures that protect the integrity of all individuals, which remains the ultimate priority for Euroleague Basketball and its clubs. Said security measures will be presented to the Euroleague Basketball office and the rest of the teams for review. Round 2 game between EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv is rescheduled at October 31st in Milan
