There’s a pretty large and active Armenian diaspora in LA, so that might explain the choice of venue (along with the popularity of French players in the US).

Our girls U18 team lost 62-63 to Luxembourg at the European Championships Division B the other day. I do not know much about this competition, but surely losing to Luxembourg is not a good sign for the future...

Well we are now into the semifinals, and so are Luxembourg, so I guess it wasn't such a bad loss after all :d

So our girls won easily against Bosnia for bronze, but our girls somehow do not get promoted because Portugal is hosting next year and they were one of the teams who finished bottom 3 of Division A. Therefore, only 2 teams got promoted from Division B instead of the usual 3. What a ridiculously unfair rule! The hosts of these events should not be chosen until the field is finalized.

FIBA are an absolute JOKE!

Greece vs Yugoslavia Euro 1987 Semis in Greece Galis vs Petrovic

after years when some players of that team were asked "what was coach's system/tactics during the time-outs"?

they answered: "Nick (Galis) take the ball and go inside" ... :d

Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid

It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places.
