Is the qualification for the 30k different than other events?

There are two ways to get qualified specifically for the 30km event:

1- by FIS points - the "normal way" - as well as the top athletes do. I am not sure if it is <120 or <100 FIS points for women, but I believe someone here can make it clear for us :)

2- by being Top10 (and not more than 20% behind the winner) in the qualifying race (the race before the Sprint - 5km for women and 10km for men). This is the one I am gonna try.

One word: Cowbells

Well, they’re unique. I can’t say I like them, but I think they’ll grow on me.

Couldn't have been anything else :d When thinking about Swiss winter sports fans, cowbells are the absolute number one thing that comes to mind. A group of 'em was behind me at the world ski flying championships in Vikersund...those things are freaking loud :d

I bought my biggest cowbell in Oberstdorf. While my Swiss bells are in totally other style.

I just hope it won't be in Schwitz Dütsch. In fact French nor Italian nor Retoroman wouldn't help me anyway. :)

I think you’ll be attending that for us, as 12PM Swiss Time is about 2AM my time. I already did enough waking up at Swiss Time this winter anyway :d

I might die of “neon exposure” by the end of these games. The brightness of their theme really hurts my eyes.

As these are the University Games, I think Oxford and Cambridge rowing clubs might have something to do with these suits.

    • Unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that I'm looking forward to Thursday evening, when the team captain's meeting is over and we have our very first World Cup start list of the season. Always a cool moment to see who's there and everything
    • Today I unpacked some of the boxes in which we have put my way too many books to move to our house, and I came across these beauty's I hadn't seen for a while     Absolutely recommended, tough to get for a decent price, but they are such an interesting read with lots of very interesting little stories! Still looking for at least 1900, 1904 and 1906, but not really in the right moment to spend money on that now, so the wait goes on
    • Which I guess is part of why unfortunately 'our' first wild card attempt of the season was rejected last week
