Men's Road Cycling UCI La Vuelta Ciclista a España 2019

Another fantastic solo by Cavagna, but this time instead of a nice but relatively small win in the Tour of California, he stayed ahead of everyone and won a GT stage :bowdown:

And that finish in Toledo, awesome :d

Wow, after the finish the helicopter was flying over Toledo showing some images....and suddenly showed sort of an apartment building or something with thick black smoke and even flames coming out of it, something was going very wrong there :yikes:

@hckosice As our Totallympics firefighter, would you say this is cause for panic when one is near there? :yikes:

Man the Vuelta has been crazy this year. Crashing team cars, crashing riders, leaking pools, pot houses, houses on fire, dirt roads, etc. The Spanish really know how to turn up the entertainment factor.

No snow walls yet to take out the basically sure winner this time :p

You're forgetting an incredibly strong rain shower while everyone was climbing on a 20%+ dirt road while nobody had any clue what was going on because all communications (from radio to TV images) had gone dark and during which - as we later saw - the race leader was hit by a motorbike :p

Oh dear !

Don´t know exactly, missing the shot from front view, but evaluating by the color and mass of the smoke, this look like some very dangerous signs of classical Backdraft !

Remember All smoke is the result of incomplete combustion to some extent; the darker it gets, the more incomplete the combustion is and by this also the more dangerous

Yeah, and seeing it come out of several different windows makes it look like it's not just an overenthousiastic BBQ on the balcony or something...damn.

dirty move today from movistar, no fairplay

It's a rather discussable move in fact. It was a natural place to be planning an attack and following the tactic isn't really that bad even when the leaders jersey is down. What can however be questioned was whether they were planning to do it or it was just because of the crash.

According to Movistar they had already planned it at that moment on the course. Thing is, Movistar is sort of known for dirty tactics, their history doesn't work in their favour so to speak.

There is extremely high turnout, and no pollster, politician, or newspaper had predicted it; now they’re all there throwing out data. No one has any idea why people voted, also because it was very technical and almost empty polling stations were expected. It will be interesting to understand whether this is a protest vote against the government or a protest vote against the judiciary.
