Well, you can bet the Americans will try to prove he did. Can't be good for FIFA either. Huge potential audience now gone.

naa, the WC will be in a really bad time here, not many people will wake up specially for soccer, though fox did spend ton of money to buy the rights for the WC

True. I was thinking the evening games would be in the afternoon but in California etc it would be quite early. Not to mention earlier games.

It could have been a penalty and Panama would have scored from it also , maybe American media would press on this case who knows , but i think it's almost impossible to replay the match

Yeah but they may not have scored from it. A bit parallel to Suarez' move against Ghana. I know the replaying of matches is very rare, I'm just speculating on what the US FA will try and push.

Good Bye Legend , it's very sad that Robben didn't win a major title for the Netherlands before he retires , I'm happy that this guy at least won every thing with Bayern munchen

    • I think the reason is that it's generally preferable to have a fast shooter in the 1st leg, and especially in the prone shooting, where Hofer is quite slow.   Now, I'm not saying I agree with the choice, because I don't. I think it's going to neutralize Giacomel's skiing skills in the 1st lap at least.   I guess the idea is to try and set a very fast pace in the 1st leg, which is usually quite tactical, but I'm afraid that's going to force Giacomel to risk too much because he will feel he has to make some time somehow.   Regardless, Italy must be on the podium tomorrow. I think that would be crucial for the following races as well. I think France is the clear favorite, but the other teams are not stronger than Italy on paper.
