This is weird - Eurosport / Discovery schedules for next week do not show any biathlon.  Surely nobody is going to do anything stupid….

In Poland TVP took over the biathlon World Cup rights from this season but I don't know how it works internationally? Sadly I'll be watching less biathlon since I absolutely can't stand the TVP crew, they will talk shit like the audience is new to the sport when Polish ES had two long-timers (the second replaced by Tomasz Sikora in the last few years) who didn't bother talking BS for newbies and could focus on some BTS gossip & others (or Sikora's countless histories with coaches & other nations). That will ALL be gone from this season

in Italy Eurosport/Discovery+ has the full coverage of Wintersports (except for tobogganing events), as usual.

Biathlon is exclusively on their media, meanwhile the disciplines managed by FIS are shared with our public TV, RAI.

    • There will be specialized double sculls...just not for an NOC if it is entering singles specialists.   Either enter 2 singles specialists, or 1 XD specialist pair.   But they can in theory compete in both events, I guess, if they qualify...our top M, I think, does both.   But there are 17M, 17W, and 30 Pairs allotted in the quota, so I don't think the intent is that every singles entry will be in doubles.   (Perhaps this gets to fall in line with Weightlifting, where due to max entry quota, an NOC can't enter in every event, even if they have the best athletes...here, unless you have a pair who qualifies in both.)

    • I read the Olympic qualification documents for weightlifting. A country can have the opportunity to send a maximum of 4 athletes in one gender, but the conditions are very strict.
    • world champion Jessica Schilder opened her season up with 19.78 in France.
    • wait! what???   so, there won't be specialized double sculls, but those boats would have to feature 2 single specialists if a Nation wants to enter 2 proper singles M+W??? tell me I misread the expalaination...
