I think this is the first time that Mexico could end with no medals in 84 years.

In any case the most likely candidates to earn a medal are in Diving and Taekwondo. Looking for a miracle in Football, Triathlon, Gymnastics, Boxing, Shooting, Archery and Athletics.

why? what happened? Yes, i know that there is a decrease but...it happened when i expected a progress also because of olympics in latin america. Mexico, Austria, Portugal, Finland and Bulgaria can be amongst the biggest loosers of whole olympic period, very sad, i like Mexican sport

I fell in love with sports.....since i first seen it

Well, the Mexican people voted 4 years ago to return to the "perfect dictatorship" as one writer once called it; thus the sports system that have been slowly built over the last 15 years is now almost collapsed due to the Mexican government try to run it (or better say ruin it) and lack of funds... don't forget that the Mexican Olympic Committee was provisionally suspended last year because of that interference. Plus, the sports federations (other than football) depend 100% on resources from that same government who refuses to allocate money to sports (and other social) programs; just this week, it was announced that the top sports events in the country for youth, junior, college and paralympic competitors are at risk of being cancelled for the first time in 20 years.

So, unless private sector do something, many good and talented prospects will have zero possibilities to reach their maximum level and shine in international competitions this year and those still to come.
