Women’s FS competition is over & we have our 1st quota at this world championships for Olympics. 

Next will be asian qualifiers, how many can we qualify in other weight categories? 

 

The Asian qualifiers so far: 

 

50 Kg -   &  

 

53 Kg -✅  we have won the quota

 

57 Kg- only  

 

62 Kg -  & 

68 Kg-   & 

 

125 Kg-  & 

 

On first look 57kg looks the most difficult to get quota & 50 Kg looks our best chance. But our girls are one of the finest wrestlers in Asia & can win in other categories too. 
Things are not as bad as in Men’s FS with  out of the way in all weight categories, it is much more even for rest of Asia for those two quotas.

Boxing olympics qualifiers #1 

 

What a terrible day for us. We lost all 3 of our bouts. 
51Kg : Deepak lost 2-3 split decision to Huseynov  ( Deepak was expected to win this bout) 

 

+92 Kg : Narender lost his bout 0-5 to Tiafack  ( Narender was expected to loose this bout) 

 

Women’s 60 Kg : Jasmine lost her bout 0-5 to Taguchi  ( Jasmine waa expected to win her bout ) 

 

So with 3 out in the first round itself, we have 6 boxers left ( 5  men & 1 women) . We will be lucky to get even 1 quota from here!
