Yevhen Marusiak :UKR won the Continental Cup competition in Klingenthal today, becoming - as far as I can find - the first ever Ukrainian on any significant international podium, let alone a win!  :cheer:

@hckošiceApparently Martin Mesik wants to kick out the ski jumping fed boss over not selecting any Slovakians for the Planica WCh and lying about consulting with him about it. Mesik will inquiry with the Ministry of Sport

Yes, there were an uproar in the media about it since the official nomination for the worlds was announced, but since it is so niche sport here, sadly the general public and media quickly lost the interest, nobody really payed attention longer than the proverbial 15 minutes, I did not hear anything about the outcome

:POL Stefan Hula - a long-time second-tier jumper ended his career after Zakopane Continental Cup today. Probably best known for leading the 2018 Olympic NH competition after the 1st round (dropped to 5th due to wind compensation deduction in the 2nd round).

His first World Cup start was Bischofshofen 2005, his last Bischofshofen 2023 :coffee:

Great news for :SVK Ski Jumping. Hektor Kapustík did qualify for the World Cup after earning points in the Continental Cup in Zakopane. We are not going to use this quota this season, Hektor chosed rather to move it to the next season and want jump in Wisla or Zakopane :d

Last :SVK ski Jumper in WC was Tomáš Zmoray 12 years ago !
