Well, everyone that knows me on the forum probably knows that I love stats and I love going back in time, so this time I was considering who is still active in the world cup from the previous winners

I don’t know if it was shown on the broadcast, but it happened in front of me. Kaisa got her ski pole stuck in bib, and took like 10 secs to get it out, coming to a full stop on the penalty loop. Got some great pictures of Kuzmina. Lot more local fans than I expected. Lot of down time between men’s and women’s with very little to do but wait.

Yeah it was visible to see something was going on with her :p 

 

The wait sucks when it's absolutely freezing, for me that's the moment to grab a magazine and just ride it out in a wind-free space :p

It’s honestly not that cold (even for a desert boy). I’m just chilling out. Went for a hike around the course (basically walked the women’s course). Great venue (too bad the Europeans hate North American stops)

Quite a lot of Europeans who like it though. Chilling in bed watching biathlon is fun too :d

#fatwoodu :p. It’s a great atmosphere, seems well organized. Only the third Olympic sport I’ve ever seen in person.

Ran 15km yesterday, I can chill for a bit :p 

 

I'm glad you're enjoying it, how is the availability of information on site? (stuff like screens, good stadium speaker etc)

One screen that’s pretty visible from most viewing areas. We can pretty much walk anywhere around the venue. Their are opportunities to bump into athletes for selfies, autographs, etc. (I don’t know if I’ll do any of that). Speaker can be hard from a few miles away. There could be better seating though, a lot of standing room only.

Only after a race and when athletes didn't have a shitty performance :d

      Vast majority of Americans will disagree with you. That's all that counts. I dont see many differences in so called fascism between democrats and republicans. Both were bombing any country they picked, both were ruining systems they wanted to.  I prefer reds more because they are at least honest about it. Also, i dont like what this ultraliberalism brought to our whole Earth. Whoever opposes this level of insanity will have my vote.

      I remember a couple of years during the athletics worlds in Oregon one of the British athletes wasn’t able to enter the US due to visa issues. I feel like something similar will happen in LA, and I don’t envisage Trump succumbing to an appeal to let an unfortunate athlete in.

      thats true. If anyone observes the US election map then he can see that Harris dominated in NorthEast states and the Eastern Coast, exactly where the big economic centres are based (New York, New Jersey, Washington, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco etc).   Also what i observe regarding politics in western europe is that Socialdemocratic/centre-left parties have become extremely pro-market and even neo-liberal and some traditional right parties have become euroscepticist and protectionist, exactly the opposite as it was in 70s-80s

      Yeah, Trump is very pro-Olympics. I imagine he's pretty excited that he will get to open the games   Visas for some nations have always been tough and I do imagine some qualified individuals will fail to enter the United States (regardless who is President), but the IOC will likely sweep it under the rug.
