Monzanator 2,731 Posted April 17, 2022 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2022 Apparently the 2022/23 World Cup calendar will only be approved at the FIS Congress in May. The delay is over major changes to the calendar. With Maribor out it also appears that Ga-Pa will no longer hold the men's DH either. The Zermatt DH will happen one week after Soelden on the last weekend of October (men) and first weekend of November (women). FIS is about to admit failure on the unfair parallel courses crap (yay!) and have only two scheduled in the next season (one in Lech). Instead the previously estranged combined is set for a major comeback however in new format. There will be DH + Super G "speed combined" and GS + SL "technical combined" proposed next season. dcro 9,839 Posted April 19, 2022 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2022 Elias Kolega retires. Sadly, as it turns out, he never did recover from the freak injury sustained in May 2020. An injury that never would have happened under sane coaching, but that's another story... #banbestmen
dcro 9,839 Posted April 20, 2022 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2022 Meanwhile, Filip Zubčić fired his coach. That's pretty radical. #banbestmen
Federer91 1,655 Posted May 18, 2022 #5 Share Posted May 18, 2022 In shocking news, The World Cup is getting extra weekends in the US of A next season. New rounds in Aspen and Palisades Tahoe are booked for the end of February and early March, just after the World Championships. Ted

phelps 3,911 Posted May 26, 2022 #8 Share Posted May 26, 2022 It looks that 15 years young Lara Colturi (Super-G Olympic Champion Daniela Ceccarelli's daughter), considered the most talented girl in Italy (at least) among the youth classes in SG and above all, GS, will represent Albania from next season... https://www.oasport.it/2022/05/sci-alpino-lara-colturi-sceglie-di-gareggiare-per-lalbania-litalia-perde-un-talento-straordinario/?refresh_ce I wonder how Italy can afford to lose their upcoming alpine skiing star even before she starts to compete at the highest level? Just ahead of the Home Olympics? Going to Albania??? (I mean, I could understand if she goes to Austria, Switzerland or another skiing powerhouse in search of a better and more competitive team, but c'mon, man! Albania???!!!) I knew there's something wrong in our Wintersports Federation, but that's really scary (and humiliating)... heywoodu and Monzanator
Monzanator 2,731 Posted May 26, 2022 #9 Share Posted May 26, 2022 Calendar for 2022/23 season is out. They rejected all the new ideas after all, parallels are almost gone and no combined of any sort. Big change is the addition of North American rounds after the World Championships for men as women will race in Kvitfjell instead. Maribor is out like previously reported. https://www.fis-ski.com/en/international-ski-federation/news-multimedia/news-2022/decisions-of-the-53rd-international-ski-congress @hckošiceSki Association of Slovakia is the new name of Slovakia Ski Association Women 22.10 Sölden GS 05.11 Zermatt-Cervinia DH 06.11 Zermatt-Cervinia DH 12.11 Lech/Zuers PAR Night event 19.11 Levi SL 20.11 Levi SL 26.11 Killington GS 27.11 Killington SL 02.12 Lake Louise DH 03.12 Lake Louise DH 04.12 Lake Louise SG 10.12 Sestriere GS 11.12 Sestriere SL 16.12 St. Moritz DH 17.12 St. Moritz DH 18.12 St. Moritz SG 28.12 Semmering GS 29.12 Semmering SL 04.01 Zagreb SL Night event 05.01 Zagreb SL Night event 07.01 Kranjska Gora GS 08.01 Kranjska Gora GS 10.01 Flachau SL Night event 14.01 St. Anton DH 15.01 St. Anton SG 20.01 Cortina d’Ampezzo SG 21.01 Cortina d’Ampezzo DH 22.01 Cortina d’Ampezzo SG 24.01 Kronplatz GS 28.01 Spindleruv Mlyn GS 29.01 Spindleruv Mlyn SL 06-19.02 WSC Courchevel Méribel 25.02 Crans Montana DH 26.02 Crans Montana SG 04.03 Kvitfjell DH 05.03 Kvitfjell SG 10.03 Åre DH 11.03 Åre SG 13-19.03 Soldeu Finals Men 23.10 Sölden GS 29.10 Zermatt-Cervinia DH 30.10 Zermatt-Cervinia DH 13.11 Lech/Zuers PAR Night event 26.11 Lake Louise DH 27.11 Lake Louise SG 02.12 Beaver Creek SH 03.12 Beaver Creek SG 04.12 Beaver Creek SG 10.12 Val d’Isère GS 11.12 Val d’Isère SL 16.12 Val Gardena SG 17.12 Val Gardena SH 18.12 Alta Badia GS 19.12 Alta Badia GS 22.12 Madonna di Camp.
