Both Italian pairs withdrew today after testing positive for COVID.

Pairs competition will be wack. No ROC, no China. Both will be reduced to just one entry next year (assuming ROC even returns, doubtful). Not that China has worthy successors of Sui/Han.

The field is so thin that :NED might be getting Top 10 finish.

China didn't attend or broadcast the WCH but #Malinin is trending no.4 on Weibo now as the only trending word related to winter sports. His jumping is quite impressive but I don't know he's that popular in China.

Brutal Putinesque purge of the Commentary team.

The International Skating Union has replaced its World Championships commentators after they made offensive remarks about Canadian former world champion Meagan Duhamel.

British commentator Simon Reed called the 36-year-old the "bitch from Canada" at the end of Wednesday's pairs event in Montpellier, France, apparently thinking his microphone was turned off.

It's not like Simon Reed shouldn't have been fired before for performance reasons...
