he wanted a better CJ medal. he probably knew he has no chance for 174kg. even though I would try 174 but sometimes these snatch / CJ medals come to the play.

 

what a day for Eko Yuli Irawan. he was great. 3 gold medals. 2 WRs. and he was capable for lifting more.

 

interesting that still no gold medal for China, I thought they are going to destroy the competition after being banned for a year. at least not yet.

IWF has overturned their decision on  Yulduz Dzhumabayeva:

"Following discussions, and in order not to harm the athlete’s achievement, a unanimous decision was taken that the second Clean and Jerk attempt (104kg) was accepted as good lift. Consequently, DZHUMABAYEVA Yulduz (TKM) received Silver Medal in the Clean and Jerk and in the Total".
