Very special for Greece that the Chiefs won, as one of their players (George Karlaftis) was born and raised in Athens! He moved to the United States when he was in high school and started playing American football. Before that, he was a water polo player on our junior national teams!

It's crazy to see Greeks doing well lately in "popular global" sports which were not big in our country like tennis (Tsitsipas and Sakkari), alpine skiing (Ginnis), American football (Karlaftis), NBA (Antetokounmpo, okay we were always good at basketball but didn't have an NBA star, only Euroleague stars or NBA bench players). What is next? F1? Golf? Figure skating?

Boring ending of an entertaining match. The holding was clear, but didn't change the outcome of the play. Those flags are terrible for the sport. The last play was comical, though.

Happy for Mahomes, he is the best QB by far and has GOAT material. It won't be easy to catch Brady's 7 rings because this is a team sport, dinasties come and go and Andy Reid could retire any moment. But individually he surely can.

So, Philadelphia teams lost the current World Series, MLS Cup AND Super Bowl :coffee:

There's still room for NBA Finals but I don't know if Flyers are good enough to go all the way to even lose in Stanley Cup

they won't even make the playoffs...

It was real cool to see an athlete I interviewed multiple times last year featured in the NFL’s annual commercial. I can confirm Diana is just as awesome in person (very nice, humble, and a beast on the field).

    • Finals are set    An all-Canadian final on the women’s side, as Team Homan looks to win their third title of the season (and improve to 18-1) against a hungry Team Einarson who have had a less than ideal start to the season, they were also the last Canadian team to beat Homan over a year ago (same event coincidentally), while on the men’s side it’ll be a battle between Olympic medalists as Team Mouat goes against Team Gushue!
    • Yeah, it was clear. But i repeat, we need it? I think no.

    • In the past the ISU has now allowed countries without a Federation to compete.
    • yeah I know    I mean it wasn't a different team specific for that sport. it was the same CC team participating in both sports.
    • It is run by a different federation though
    • from what I heard , Iran has registered to participate in Alpine, CC skiing, SkiMo, Skating (they didn't mention which discipline ) and ... (this one will be surprising ) ... Curling    Curling is not a sure thing yet, the NOC has to approve it. the team is very new. I mean very very new, only few months ago they gathered few people to start the sport  you can't lose 100-0 in Curling, right ?    anyway it will be first time ever Iran participating outside of FIS disciplines. ( I didn't count Ski orienteering in 2011 which was the same as CC)   nobody cares about winter sports here. therefore finishing last won't have consequences. they can afford sending very weak teams. (which is not the case for the main Asian Games)
    • World Junior Championships ( Dushanbe)   Day #4 Medallists   women's -78kg Gold:  Brenda Olaya Silver:  Mathilda Sophie Niemeyer Bronze:  Eva Ronja Buddenkotte &  Dandara Camilo   women's +78kg Gold:  Lee Hyeon Ji Silver:  Celia Cancan Bronze:  Chihiro Yamaguchi &  Safa Soliman   men's -100kg Gold:  Mukhammadsodik Sodikov Silver:  Nozomu Miki Bronze:  Azhdar Baghirov &  Fares Mekhoukh   men's +100kg Gold:  Denis Batchaev Silver:  Kanan Nasibov Bronze:  Saba Kardava &  Ibrahim Tataroglu
    • 100 days to go until the first multi-sports games of the 2025
    • 11 medals out of 15 athletes. for whatever reason  we sent an incomplete team of 16 athletes (only 1 left for tomorrow) I wish I knew why  I can guess though   the result is indeed very good in such a competitive sport but lack of talent was never our problem in taekwondo. it was always there probably much more than any other country.    but the problem is the transition to the senior team. most of previous junior world champions never even made the senior team. (the new federation is doing better in this regard though)
