Bronze for Slovakia and 4th for Bulgaria had me questioning the quality of this competition. Then i went to see the results and people having 5-6-7-8 misses on the ranges explains it all. :d

It was pretty windy and snow was falling, so shooting conditions weren't ideal.

Believe it or not, this actually isn't the biggest deficit in a curling match at the YOG.

:GBR 21 - 0 :BRA holds that honor from Lillehammer 2016

Did the silver medalist in the men's 1500m short track inadvertently admit to a rules infraction? Quote: "Thanks to my coaches, and thanks to my team-mate for blocking the other racers to help me get silver."

That's technically illegal, no?

Watching the ski jumping now, but really, there was that one guy somewhere at the IOC/LOCOG decision table who went "Hey guys, let's broadcast the ski jumping, but let's see how that works with just no graphics at all. No, I don't mean we skip the fancy things, we just don't use graphics...at all."

Sigh.

Edit: watched the first 10 jumpers or so, no graphics whatsoever, got angry and posted this. Continued watching and after the very first next jumper...graphics appeared

Yeah, I think there was just a problem with the graphics at the start.

    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
