Possibly another quiet day, though short track has a few important races including the men's 1500m final. I'm also hoping for something in snowboard cross

Also since we are about a quarter of the way through let's see how Canada is doing. I predicted 24 medals and I broke them down into 6 groups...

Freestyle Skiing - 1/5

Snowboarding - 2/5

Short Track - 1/4

Speed Skating - 1/4

Curling/Ice Hockey - 0/3

Others - 1/3

Nothing to worry so far. Losing mixed doubles curling leaves little room for error, hopefully our curling teams and men's ice hockey team has it in them. With figure skating looking to produce 0 medals, ski jumping has helped out the others category. Bobsled will be relied upon for the other two medals unless skeleton or one of the other sports produces another surprise.

I love this way of thinking about it. I think the one that seems most concerning right now is the Freestyle Skiing - but it's not impossible to get those medals. Bobsleigh has the potential to bring multiple medals. Speed Skating is also possible to over perform with some key events coming in the next few days. I'm really really hoping for an Alpine medal of some sort too, I suspect our best chances have passed us with some great results from Crawford but there still is some hope. I don't know Biathlon well enough to know if Scott Gow is competitive in the other events.

Gow's best chance was in the individual. Don't think he has the ski speed to win a medal in the sprint. Maybe a chance in the pursuit if he finishes top 20 in the sprint, shoots clean and the top contenders miss some shots. The men's relay is probably the best chance left since we had a 5th place finish at the last world cup

So based on interviews the head judge of men’s snowboard slopestyle gave we can pretty definitively say that Parrot won gold because the angle they were given by the TV director didn’t show his missed grab. So we got away with one there.

(though I feel like Parrot deserved to win in 2018 and was underscored in 2014 so whatever, he used up his built up karma on that run)

This just sounds like backtracking because of pressure from the locals.  Su missed half the rail section, him winning gold off of one jump (that he put hands down on) would be even more ridiculous.  Like you said, Canada and Parrot in particular has been shafted in this event the last 2 Olympics and no one said anything about Americans getting undeserved golds.  Frankly, it's unprofessional and unclassy to say shit like this after the fact by judges.

I discount league surprises and of course Legia which is stuck in relegation zone
