The decision was ineviteable. WTA threw out the Chinese money because of one player and now they are boxed in a hole i.e. they have to follow ATP's lead. Russia remains top two country when it comes to depth in Top 100 of the WTA rankings and they've led that charts over the years too.

I think there is still a ban for unvaccinated people to enter the country. So they probably shouldn't name it as Open.
