Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2018 - 2019

Recommended Posts

after winning her battle against cancer, Elena Fanchini was supposed to make her return to the world cup...

but while training on the same track where Lindsay Vonn injured herself, she also paid another tribute to bad luck...she broke her leg and a hand (and she also had a torn knee, but no ligament damage, it seems)...

I'm so sad for her...she's been so unlucky in these last few years...:(

p.s. Fanchini's injury actually happened the day before Vonn's...

Lindsey Vonn has suffered a training crash at the National Speed Skiing Center at Copper Mountain, CO. She will NOT need surgery, but is definitely out of the Lake Louise World Cup. US Ski Team will release further details later

It’s really unfortunate that Vonn won’t compete at Lake Louise in her farewell season, there is simply no venue that is as associated with her. Really wanted to see her win one last ine there.

    • So 5 of Australia's top 6 current WTA players were not born in Australia. Only Gadecki was.   At least Birrell lived most of her life there and Joint has an Australian parent. Even Saville at least eventually married an Aussie even though when she first got citizenship it was a total joke.   Tomljanovic and Kasatkina playing for Australia is so weird. Also it's quite pathetic a country like Australia, with so many resources for tennis, has to keep naturalizing players because they can't produce their own talents...
