Doping Cases and Bans Thread (2016 & 2017)

Recommended Posts

Also from the linked article: it looks likely that Russia's best and second best Bobsleigh teams will be disqualified, leaving a gold for Switzerland, a silver for the USA and a bronze for Latvia in the two man event and a gold for Latvia, a silver for the USA and a bronze for Great Britain in the four man event.

This would also be a big blow for 2018 because Alexander Kasjanov is a legitimate medal chance still.

I beg to differ with St. Moritz being a very specific track. While it is the longest, start is still very important. I mean, how else can you explain Mirela Rahneva winning women's race last season with a huge margin (one of the best starters with very little experience on European tracks...).

Continue counting undeserved medals and wresting hands. Dont forget to open champagne

I open a champagne for every doped that is caught, i don't care if it's italian or russian. Btw, it's a shame what the Russian NOC do in this years.

Lie and hypocrisy. You know perfectly well that the russians are pure, they are not doppers. Anti-Russian hysteria has passed all the limits. This is not a fight against doping, but a fight with Russia

    • It's all hogwash especially in the short attention span generation. Like nobody cares about Free Tibet anymore either. Free Palestine will last a lot longer due to Saudi Arabia becoming a sponsorship force in sports.   Israel is too weak in soccer to qualify from UEFA zone. The only time they qualified was from the Asian zone and they only beat Australia & New Zealand who were complete nobodies in the 1960s. No such luck in the 60 years since.
    • Oh I assure you FIFA dodger a bullet with Israel not qualifying…   But ya that’s kind of the thing, shut up and dribble is a mantra anti LGBT people have used often. I don’t think it’s hypocritical to remind them of their position
    • Ah, yes but that's not how pro athletes are taught in North America these days? Shut up & dribble is xenophobic, racist or whatever? The hypocrisy of some of these policies were exposed during 2022 World Cup already where the Saudis played it smart and waved their own "Free Palestine' slogans. Forget LGBT rights for a moment, how many 'Free Palestine' flags will be waved in 2026? Or will those be confiscated by default? Somehow I feel this won't be met with similar backlash when China clamped down on 'Free Tibet' in 2008 OG. Saudi Arabia is more important to global markets than Iran & Egypt
