Not necessarily, but to be fair: one can assume that when you go from 1 crappy track to 5 modern tracks

Basically, what happened here also.

Citation

and combine that with a huge PR machine and huge funding, it does deliver some noticeable results :p

Ah, that's the part missing. D'oh.

We had three new velodromes opening in a couple of years here (and a couple more in the pipeline). I remember how the french cyling federation was claming then this was going to put french track cycling back to the top . Having the needed infrastructures is only one face of the coin, really.

Why does Tissot Timing not have this event?

The official one sucks again, the results disappeared when the last two heats were up

Good time for Germany, considering that Hinze is only the 3rd option and that this is the first time that Welte and Hinze compete together. Maybe in Tokyo we will even see Grabosch and Hinze together.

Also gutsy move by the german coaches to have Timo Bichler (born in 1999) in position 1, will be hard for him to make Rene Enders (probably the best athlete ever in position one of the team sprint) proud :p.

Not too surprising, given that this track (build for Chris Hoy) is said to be clearly in favor of sprinters and not endurance athletes.

The FIBA World Cup Qualifier in P.R. is a throwaway tour- nament for Team USA after the Gold Medal Game debacle. • I'm also reminded as I know Canadians are painfully aware that if figures hadn't been a part of the 1984 Olympics, then Brian Orser would have won gold.  Hamilton could have finished 4th in the free skate that year and still beat Orser who finished 7th in the figures
    • claimed their 3rd European title after beating 34-27  First title since 2012  got the bronze after beating   34-33   is the best team in the world by far 👏👏👏

    • I would like to see the Summer Games in Italy after long time ago: 1960, especially since the last times we have only had winter editions, but with this political class it will be difficult First of all, such games should serve to promote and strengthen local sport, and we have a problem with that. If I remember good, that, 1960 was a very successful year for us in sports - maybe some normal people were still in power in that time, no idiots, like now?
    • If a credible bid had come across the IOC's radar it would have been awarded by now imo. Which western country is going to submit a good bid and get the games?
