Alpine Skiing FIS World Cup 2021 - 2022

Recommended Posts

Well, Fridays cancelled M Downhill is already moved to next week Beaver Creek. Todays Super-G should be contested in later date as well but still not officially announced.

Mikaela with another WR, beating Stenmark amount of wins in one discipline. And achieving it at home, that is something really huge, well done.

Petra 4th race of the season and 4th podium. I really really hope she will win a medal in Beijing. That would be very frustrating and disastrous if SVK will again finish medalless in Alpine Skiing after all the bad luck Veronika Zuzulová had and Petra total failure in PyeongChang.

Wendy Holdener. Man, what a warrior is this chick ! even with her obvious handicap with both hands she can ski so well and so fast is really beyond me

I assume Liensberger will hit peak come Beijing. Pretty much four names for three medals in slalom but Shiffrin & Vlhova still have a clear step on the rest. Of course the OG unknown course can favor someone out of nowhere but I don't see it. And Holdener is the most vulnerable mentally as usual.

Good podium, but surprised that Duerr’s podiums in Levi turn out not to be an anomaly. The top7 for slalom seem so convincing with taking the high places that I wonder which skier will manage to do a Gallhuber in Beijing and get a medal.

Not sure why they can’t do the GS in Killington tomorrow, they should’ve just postponed it on Saturday, but they clearly wanted to smash their head through the wall in those disastrous conditions.

Because the athletes are tomorrow already traveling to Lake Louise. First DH Training should be already on Tuesday.

+ It is without debate our only and sole medal chance in Beijing. The pressure of he whole nation on her will be enormous. I really hope she will return home with at least one medal.

I assume the combined will be a sure thing given how easy the slalom will be? Gisin, Shiffrin & Vlhova should walk away with the medals there.

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
