Salpeter will want to forget this day.

It's so unfair too because look at all the extra ground she ran when she started running towards lane 8 with 1 lap to go

5.90 is the highest Lisek has cleared outdoors anyway. And he was always kinda in the shadow since Wojciechowski won the gold in Daegu.

Few days ago Lisek jumped 5.94.

Since nothing is happening right now, let me to made my personal recap of our athletics.

All in all the goal was achieved, 3 places in top 10. was even overpassed

1 medal (Silver of Tóth) and 3 places in top 8 (6. Czáková in W 50 RW, 8. Veszelka in M TJ and 8. in W 4x400 Relay - the biggest surprise of the whole our championship here) + 1 top 12 (11. Lomnický in M Hammer)

Other positive things, we had a lot of young athletes debuting here, some of them showed a really nice potential, like Daniela Ledecká in 400 Hurdles, with the new NU20R or the young Gajanová in 800 and Zapletalová in 400m. + Nice semifinal participations of Martin Kučera in M 400 H.

In other side, we had also many disappointments, especially Ján Volko, the pressure of his first major events was probably too much for him (two 13th places in 100m expected, but in 200m was a huge disappointment ) hopefully with this new experience he´ll be able to stand all pressures more next time

The biggest Disappointment clearly from Hrašnová in W HT.

Breaking news: The organizers try to find a reason to disqualify all other nations from heat 2 of mens 4 x 100 m relay so that Germany makes the final. Thats the reason why it is taking so long.

Is Poland in athletics what Italy is in swimming? Has any polish athlete undeperformed here? Was there any polish medal contender who didnt medal?

    • Honestly, it’s not very clear what is happening in Italy — anything could happen. There is extremely high turnout, and no pollster, politician, or newspaper had predicted it; now they’re all there throwing out data. No one has any idea why people voted, also because it was very technical and almost empty polling stations were expected. It will be interesting to understand whether this is a protest vote against the government or a protest vote against the judiciary.
