[PREDICTION CONTESTS] Discussion Thread

When World Cup finishes, I'll post standings with points calculated without multiplications for QF, SF and finals, and will post some statistics to see how much multiplication actually affects scores and someone's chances to win a medal.

As of now, here's the table of current top 10:

Rank w/out multipl. User PTS Official Rank
1 amen09 141 1
2 crovitlaci 136 2
3 Vojthas 135 3
4 ady48 132 4
4 chrischi08 132 5
4 thepharoah 132 8
7 Jahiegel 131 6
8 Agger 129 9
8 Dolby 129 7
8 Henry_Leon 129 9

We can see that thepharoah's ranking is a bit affected. But - he is 4.25 points away from third place in official ranking and he would be 3 points away from third place in case without multiplication. Next match is a semifinal between Croatia and England and we can agree that match is quite see-saw on paper. If thephaorah get's 3 pts for that match and Vojthas gets none, than the TB rule would be applied o determine third place. With multiplication, thephaorah would win 4.5 points and will be 0.25 points ahead of Vojthas.

That is why I will post a poll at the end of the year and we will vote whether to keep multiplication or not. There are always pros and cons, and I hope we will come to final agreement.

@Wanderer Do you remember my additional prediction in the Round of 16? Bonus points maybe
