Happy that Nikitin jumped 2.15 :d He's only just recovered after serious injury.

Woah! Shukh said she wants to take part in Berlin :yikes::mad:

She injured herself in the yesterday's JT. So she competed at 100mH with an injury .... imho that was stupid :| It's not the right occasion to play a superhero, gurl((. I'll have a heart attack at the ECH if she goes there.

Happy that :IND has won its 1st ever track gold in any world championships of any category. Moreover Das comes from Assam, a state known of world level boxers or contact sports specialist. And Das started running only from few months as she is a 100m runner and tried the 400m for the first time this march only.

Gabija Galvydytė with a new U20 NR in 400m. Hurdles. She might have been 16th today, but she's 4th among the U20 European Championships athletes for next year.

Still one day behind with watching (just finished yesterday's evening session). The commentator after Zohri won: "History has been made! The first ever Indonesian gold medal......in the men's 100 meters.....in the U20 World Championships!"

I really don't think the main bit of history here is "the first Indonesian ever to win the 100 meter in the U20 worlds" :roflmao:

Had they ever won any medal at all, any event? Or even any age category?

.

I honestly do not understand. Is IAAF trolling us? Yesterday they showed that Bačianskaitė jumped 1.65 successfully, but after a 5-7 minute break they changed that she went out in 1.62...

Today, she jumps 5.60 on her third attempt. 3-4 minutes later I come back to the live results to see an X instead of the result.

Seriously, fuck this...

    • Weightlifting formula is more or less similar to 2020 which was considered terrible by everybody!    this is a tough sport, you can't be in your best shape for too many events. there will be risks of serious injuries this way. with these rules you need 5 good results to qualify. if you bomb out in an event to score a zero you are out of the Olympics unless you replace it with another event. which means most of these poor guys have to participate in 7-8 events (and not just 5) to make up for possible bomb outs.    most importantly if you get injured anytime during this period (almost 2 years) you are out of the Olympics! that's how Sohrab Moradi missed the Tokyo Olympics despite breaking the WR during the qualification period. you can miss the Olympics in 2028 if you get injured late 2026 !  Karlos Nasar couldn't win the Olympic title if we had these rules in 2024   I understand 2024 qualification formula wasn't great either, it had its own flaws but this one is much worse for threatening athletes' health.
