Looking at previous Wc and World cup results is not promising. Ofc they could have improved in the mean time, but with the rising of other countries....this sport has gotten super competitive.

I'm pretty sure there is no need to worry :yes Looking at the profils of some of the qualified athlete in Pyeongchang, I'd be highly surprised if WC medallists like Sarault do not make the cut.

I like the skinsuit design Ireland went with.

Still don't get the advancement system ... in the first 1000m heat, Lepape is knocked out two laps from the finish line by Sighel, who's penalized, but the Frenchman is not advanced. I guess that's because he was in third position at the time but he was clearly menacing and could have qualified, even by time staying third (thing we couldn't know as it was the first race but still) :mumble: In a further race Corey is pushed out by Kim in the second lap, moves from first to last, but as the push was light he stays in the race and one lap later climbs in first again. Then he's just outpaced and finishes last ... but he's advanced

You only get advanced if the incident happened when you were in a automatic qualification position. Basically to prevent people fighting for minor places to have an incentive to bump into each other and force a call.

I understand that, but the second call I mentioned is quite appalling when you put it into perspective :wall:

    • It’s honestly baffling how bad she was in 2018. Just absolutely lost her head. Real shame too because she is so gifted. I do hope Li Jianrou sends her a Christmas card every year tho, she was absolutely gifted a gold medal by Christie in 2014.
    • Oh I’m not done yet, unfortunately. From the names that could be back but are still injured   Courtney Hoffos Mikael Kingsbury (should be back before the Olympics) Connor Howe (he returned, but nowhere close to his best so his injury is still giving him issues) Connor Bedard Meryeta O’Dine Megan Oldham
    • Italy also has its own list, although of course not every injury is as terribile  in terms of medal losses. In winter sports have unfortunately much more injuries than summer sports. In the summer only: cycling, volleyball and football.     - Brignone: will return in January, - Tabanelli: will return for the Olympics, - Bassino: season over, - Marta Rossetti: season over, - Lara Malsinier: season over.
    • TNT staff expect they will offer it at a price similar to what they offering the Winter Olympics for rather than the full TNT price.   But equally the main coverage is apparently going to be very different to what they do for the Olympics (Which is less pundits and studio chat than the BBC) with speculation it might be based on NBC’s Olympic coverage with tons of human interest etc.
    • India Sherret (ski cross)   Another name to the ever-growing list of injuries for the Canadian team… used to be excited for the Olympics, now not so much…
    • Voted  Thank you for extending the deadline and allowing me to vote once my exams are over. @OlympicIRL
