Yes, Russia should concentrate on only drugging their minor athletes now.  Obviously it works.

It is what is is. Norway uses drugs for their juvenile cross country skiers but they are bailed out through TUE

Also even CAS think the exact timing announcing the positive test right after the match and before the podium ceremony during the olympics is somehow like a conspiracy

And to be honest it's seems true

It's COVID. So it's possible it takes a while for samples to get shifted from Moscow to Stockholm. But if they waited on purpose, it was probably to prevent a cover-up and basically dare RUSADA to clear her in one day...

At any rate this is just horrible. You can get away with drugging minors? And I am not even sure anymore if this was all done without Valieva's knowledge. For starters, surely she knows what kind of doctor is a part of her team.

But I guess this finally comes down to what was easier. It's easier to disqualify someone after the competition than shortly before. Just how it is.

Also, whatever the Karolyis may have done, it's almost nothing compared to what is Eteri doing. The more you know the more disturbing it gets.

Figure skating is a sport dominated by Russians anyway. USA & Japan have completely tailed off in the ladies event so they would still win gold even if Valieva was prevented from competing.

What I want to say is that if the result came out 2 days earlier. ROC could easily change Kamila Valieva to Anna Shcherbakova to compete the team event also change to Elizaveta Tuktamysheva to compete the women's event. In this scenario, it's fair to say ROC would still win the team event and women's event without controversy. ROC would not hurt at all if so, but if released the result after letting Kamila compete, then the whole world have big drama to follow.

Still doping minors is unacceptable and the case will be continuously back and forth lasting one or two years even allowing Kamila to compete. But if the result released 2 days earlier, Kamila would be quietly replaced under the WADA protection rule and allowed to compete soon, Shcherbakova would win the team's gold, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva could get her awaited quota. It's just too nice to treat the evil Russia.

Yeah, this could feasibly end up with Valieva getting DQ'd from the singles and ROC keeping their team gold (using Trusova/Shcherbakova's scores from the singles event).

    • I have reported this again and they said it should be fixed now, please let me know if you are still facing issues.
    • more countries added to the list of US ban    you can't travel to USA if you are from : burkina faso , niger , Laos , South sudan , mali , sierra leon ...
    • Yes, but what I mean for Serbia is that everything changed there (unfortunately for us ). 2022 was an unbelievable mess, that's not the case anymore now with just one athlete who has really gone for it and made it, so I'm 99% sure they'll accept it this time.   Who knows though. Plus there's always 1-2 bigger countries here or there who reject something, but it's not gonna be 16 places I'm afraid
    • Doping by Event Type When we look at which events have the most doping cases, a few categories stand out from recent sanction records: Long Distance (3,000m and above): 32% of cases Sprints (400m or less): 24% of cases Jumps: 12% of cases Javelin: 8% of cases Middle Distance (800m–1,500m): 8% of cases Hammer: 8% of cases Steeplechase (3,000m SC): 4% of cases
    • From 2020 to 2025    These three countries alone make up almost two-thirds (61.9%) of all current doping violations in athletics worldwide. It’s worth noting that 199 of World Athletics’ 214 member federations have no athletes on the current ban list. This means the problem is really concentrated in a small number of places. Here’s a look at the top countries: Rank Country Total Violations Percentage Region 1 Kenya 119 24.74% Africa 2 India 108 22.45% Asia 3 Russia 73 15.18% Europe 4 China 26 5.40% Asia 5 Turkey 20 4.16% Europe 6 Italy 18 3.74% Europe 7 South Africa 18 3.74% Africa 8 Ukraine 17 3.53% Europe 9 United States 16 3.33% North America 10 Morocco 15 3.12% Africa
