Isn't that a bit suspicious? :p

I mean, 1 medal in whole of history and now they get 19 in 3 days!

Not necessarily. Many countries are only just beginning to take an interest in Paralympic sports, so that we are going to see surges in performance as they identify athletes and invest in them for the first time. It's one of the reasons we see so many world records as the pool of talent grows from a relatively small base at each successive Games.

:GBR actually tied China with 9 golds, but only for a second as China already has some 13-14 golds.

It was never going to be anything other than transitory. China will finish a long way clear of everyone else. GB will finish a good second and I'm guessing Brazil, Ukraine and USA will battle for the next three spots.

Which sports have TV coverage here ? is there a list ? I know Athletics, Swimming, Football 7-side and Wheelchair basketball have it, but what about the others ?

Not sure where 'here' is, but in addition to the sports listed by yourself and Gianlu33 I have also been able to watch table tennis.

I absolutely have no idea :dunno:

In fact we are actually not so strong in canoe sprint, we are mainly focused for the mens K4 because of tradition, but the canoe sprint in overall isn´t so much popular in the country. Slalom has much more interest and popularity

Given your country's great tradition I just thought para-athletes might gravitate towards paracanoeing  now it's in the Games, but I guess it is to soon to tell. If paracanoeing is successful in Rio and Tokyo perhaps slalom will follow.

Thanks bud.

There no strict goals for our team this time, but we have some medal chances too ofc, especially with Veronika Vadovičová in womens air rifle tomorrow, there a real chance for Slovakia to win the very first medal of the Rio paralympics, which would be awesome :d and there also some other medal chances in table tennis and track and road cycling..but we are usually much better in winter paralympics, mainly in alpine skiing Slovakia is one of the top countries, I remember we won the medal count of this sport in Vancouver 2010, in summer editions we aren´t so good...but who know, maybe Rio will be a lucky place for us like it was during the olympics, so we´ll see :d

I know canoe slalom is the Slovakian specialism but is there any prospect of future success in sprint canoeing now that paracanoeing has been admitted to the Games?

and btw John Twomey of Ireland is going to compete his 11th paralympics :yikes::bowdown: He started as a table tennis player, later he became a discus thrower and in the couple of last paralympics he compete in sailing :d

Raise you one. 74 year old Libby Kosmala of Australia is competing in her twelfth games (1972-2016). Had it not been for an administrative error she would also have competed in 1968.

The qualification period for powerlifting concluded at the end of February. At the time I identified which of the athletes from my country had qualified myself as I couldn't find a definitive list. It wasn't easy because some athletes qualify in more than one weight category and until you know which one they intend to compete in it is difficult to identify all of the final qualifiers in each event. As I said I managed to identify which Brits had qualified but I had to wait until they were officially selected on 18th April before I knew which weight they would be lifting in.

The qualification period for wheelchair fencing also recently concluded but I haven't been able to establish who the qualifiers are.

Doubles quota are added later.

Any nation with 2 athletes in an event can enter a doubles team, after the bipartite and doubles wild cards we will know who will be able to enter doubles teams in each event.

I think that if you qualify four players in the men's or women's singles you can field two doubles teams from the singles qualifiers.
