It’s the same one used for the 2019 African Games and 2023 GSSE, which doesn’t instill me with a lot of confidence. I think this is the lower end/basic model offered by Atos, at least that’s my assumption given how it’s been used in the past.
At least it is a ‘working’ results system. They only forget to publish pdf-results or a complete resultbook. GSSE 2023 worked well during the event, but no results can be downloaded.
One should think that the results are part of the legacy of the Games at last years this information seems to getting worse or challeging to find (for example: South East Asian Games 2023, Pan American Junior Games 20121, ALBA Games 2023)
Victoria had a perfectly fine swimming venue that already hosted swimming in 2006 and also the world short course swimming champs in December but the government refused to use any venues in Melbourne.
I really do not understand why many proposals are based on new venues or venues which need major upgrade. Only to meet the demands of the international federations?
When was the last time we did see full stands at a major competition? London 2012? After that many events seemed to be held in venues too big for the interested public. It was a shame looking at the stream of the European Games in 2023. Athletics held in a 50.000-venue with hardly any spectators.
Lot of venues build for big events seem te be unused or do not need the capacity after the Games: Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, Rio 2016, World Cup soccer in South Africa and Qatar……
In order to ‘survive’ a critical review of the way forward seems te be helpfull…..
That's disappointing Just let Senegal or Mali or some other country sort of south of the Saraha but north of South Africa host it and you won't have a high enough number for the atmosphere (ok, not a significantly higher score for information and overall organization, but still, I prefer atmosphere )
Still: Morocco stepped in as an alternative for several other countries. Even after Morocco did not participate in recent African Games. Better something than nothing? Many other multi sport events haven't been held in recent years: West Asian Games, Arab Games, East Asian Games etc.
What African countries could stage these Games in the near future?
South Africa (they sent a relative small group of athletes because of financial issues)
Algeria (facilities are being built for the MedGames in Oran)
Nigeria
Ghana (really?)
Egypt
Tunesia
Senegal (build a huge basketball arena) & Mali (are you serious?)
Equatorial Guinea (former selected host, but no history in sports), must have been a joke....
Congo (to soon again)
Kenya
Some possibilities, but I think these Games are in serious doubt....like European Games, Universiad and (too) many other Games.
At least judo started and is finished....all the other sports seems to have postponements or re-scheduling. No information about participants from sports still to begin.....getting worrying
