still sucks.

these teams should improve themselves in the world league not during the olympic.

fair qualification is sth like handball qualification, really nothing is wrong with that qualification

if it's up to me. i get rid of fivb world cup as soon as possible but i knew they want to hold tournament more and more.

I didn't say I liked that or that it was the best. I was just suggesting how it could improve from the point of view of FIVB, who doesn't want too many european teams.

It's obvious that the intercontinental qualifier has an ideologic motive behind: to increase non-european representation at the olympics. I don't think that's bad per se, but I see two fatal flaws in it: a) that they send the 3rd, not the 2nd teams from N. & S. America b) that Asia has no access to it whatsoever. Asian teams have only two chances for olympics (world cup and asian qualifier) while every other continent is having 3.

Well, Chile won a set against Brazil A team last year and I have seen both Chile and Tunisia play vs Argentina recently and to me Chile was stronger. They have two good attacking players (Gevert and Bonacic) that neither Tunisia or Mexico seem to have. Still, Mexico is favorite at home.

Edit: Though Gevert seems to be injured for this tournament.

Argentina squad for World League (and sort of long squad for olympics):

Setters: Luciano de Cecco, Nicolás Uriarte, Demian Gonzalez

Opposites: Bruno Lima, Javier Vega, Cristian Poglajen

OH: Facundo Conte, Rodrigo Quiroga, Ezequiel Palacios, Lisandro Zanotti, Nicolás Bruno, Jan Martínez, Nicolás Lazo

Middle Blockers: Sebastián Solé, Martin Ramos, Pablo Crer, Facundo Imhoff, Joaquin Gallego

Liberos: Alexis Gonzalez, Facundo Santucci, Sebastian Closter

SO happy to see many players from junior/youth teams and not the usual weak old people :old:
