If it weren't for the team event, we wouldn't have won a medal in this sport. However, it's disappointing that most of our skaters aren't in the best shape of their careers here, or even of this season... This is a sport where home ice should help (better jury ratings), and we should win at least these two medals here. But we have:   - the dance pair was at its peak in 2023, - Conti/Macci today had probably its worst short program in 2 years, - Grassl also performed much worse than he has all of season – he even had a chance for a medal, considering Malinin and the Frenchman's failures.

I looked up his bio on the Fis website upon reading your post, and dammit.   I could name a few slalom specialists whom I consider too DNF-prone, but this man might be the ultimate boss of DNFs.
