  1. Interesting enough, this tournament has 16 teams, while next year's main women's World Cup will feature only 12.
  2. They're doing great. I'm interested to see how the senior team performs in Afrobasket. Maybe they can challenge for the African spot in the next Olympics?
  3. Well, then... maybe they can add Futsal too since there was some campaign for its inclusion at the brazilian league this week
  4. This substance seems to be in high "demand" as two brazilians got caught recently: Fernanda Borges (discus throw, only got a 2 months suspension and was allowed to compete in Tokyo to dismal results), and Tandara (volleyball, also competed at the Games and was suspended after QF, will also allege "unintentional use" but won't get any help from the brazilian committee).
  5. After winning a silver medal in Tokyo, Fernanda Garay and Camila Brait announced their retirement from NT.
  6. Gold: R$ 250.000 (~US$ 50.000) Silver: R$ 150.000 (~US$ 30.000) Bronze: R$ 100.000 (~US$ 20.000) For pairs (Sailing and Tennis) it's the same (each gets the money of an individual medal). For teams it was R$ 750.000 (~US$ 150.000) for Football (gold) and R$ 450.000 (~US$ 150.000) for Volleyball (silver), which it's really not a lot when divided by all the players. Of course Rebeca Andrade was the brazilian athlete with biggest prize (R$ 400.000 or ~US$ 80.000).
  8. Anything between 40 and 70 will be acceptable, but I hope can improve the 14 gold medals won in Rio (which won't be easy since we don't have so many champions in Athletics and Swimming anymore).
  9. I was shocked when they didn't win a single gold in Rio, being the next hosts that is. I'm curious to see how they perform this time, but updating the qualification thread it seems they don't even have good representation in some sports (although the addition of Badminton should already help them in the medal table).
  10. Exactly. I don't ever watch those sports and in Tokyo I watched a little bit of both because there was nothing else going on
  11. The good: it was the best Olympics ever for Brazil, so I can't say I didn't enjoy. The bad: no public really hurt the atmosphere and excitement of some sports. The ugly: the feeling of sadness every time an Olympic Games ends.
  12. Sad because these Games showed a lot of variety (even with China dominating the medal table).
  13. Best position ever for at the medal table (12th). Hoping for a record also at the Paralympics but it will be difficult (7th in 2012 is our best).
  14. Thank Lord Brazil didn't face the americans in QF A silver is always a sad way to end an Olympics, but of course it was much more than I expected from them prior to the Games (which was nothing).
  15. Gymnastics in general being responsible for some of the biggest shocks of Tokyo. Almost every contender that was 99% certain of winning the gold medal prior to the Games didn't win.
  16. Even with a mistake I thought their routine was impressive.
  17. Again every nation requesting an inquiry, this will take hours lol
Athletics: 1 (+1) Beach Volleyball: 1 (-1) Boxing: 1 (+2) Canoeing: 1 Football: 1 Gymnastics: 1 (+1) Judo: 1 (+1) Sailing: 1 Skateboarding: 2 (+1) Surfing: 1 Swimming: 1 (+2) Volleyball: 1 Cycling, Equestrian, Taekwondo, Tennis, Weightlifting, Wrestling: 2 (-1) Total: 15 (+6)
