  1. Gold in the first Athletics event
  2. Brazil flopped and is no longer good at beach sports - at least those performed on sand
  3. After a "slow" start, this really feels like a Paralympic day with so many things going on that I can't keep up. + I should watch more Athletics in one day here than I did at the entire Olympics
  4. Also hurting is the fact that one of our biggest ever medalists (André Brasil) was recently considered ineligible for Paralympic swimming which has ended his career.
  5. Silver medals for in Equestrian and Wheelchair Fencing, improving the results from Rio.

  8. Sadly that's a problem within Swimming events and Daniel Dias has spoken in the past that it was kinda unfair that athletes there were from a higher class (S6) now are competing with him in S5. Anyway, it's nice to see him still managing to get medals.
  9. You posted a list of the sports that would be broadcasted, and there are so many that I was under the impression that the list included all sports. Maybe if you started by saying that Powerlifting wouldn't be covered you would get more attention + that's surprising because the sport was broadcast in Rio, and even some World Cup stages have full coverage on the IPC website. Also what's the point of including Taekwondo and only show highlights.

  13. So that makes three south american cities in a row, which have never happened before. Guess the north american nations are not interested anymore.
  14. In Brazil both Sportv (paid channel, full events) and Globo (free channel, only highlights) are broadcasting, but the Paralympic channels on YouTube are still available.
  15. I think they're still available since videos from Rio and London Paralympics keep popping up in my feed. But I don't think they created a playlist, I guess we just have to search for specific events we're interested

My predictions for top 10: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 gets first position at the medal table since 2004, so their place is secured, but is back (as RPC of course) with probably their best team ever (?), so I expect them to "steal" some of the golds other big nations won in their 2016 absence. They'll have a good fight with , which since 2000 always figure in the top 3 positions, and this time maybe can even maintain the second place. About and it could go either way, both are very consistent and finish at the top 5 in almost every recent edition. I gave United States the edge because Ukraine has fewer athletes this time. I could change the order of the top 5 nations, but for me this are the most likely to end ahead of the competition. could potentially challenge for top 5 as they have a good variety of medalling sports, but their results in Athletics and Swimming (obviously the two sports that give most medals) aren't that great. Either way, they should at least get 6th place ahead of , , and which are close in medal chances. Netherlands is strong in Cycling and Swimming, Italy in Swimming (amazing results at the most recent world championships), Germany in Cycling and Athletics, and Brazil in a few sports. I think Netherlands will pull ahead because they are clearly in an ascending curve when it comes to Paralympics, but Brazil could challenge for 8th and show the "legacy" of the Rio Games. A slew of nations could challenge for top 10 though. was top 10 in the last two editions and of course could repeat the feat. is consistent and could show the improvement ahead of their own Games. , , , , and didn't reach the top 10 in London and Rio, but with some luck at the gold medal count maybe will. And of course there's which didn't get a single gold medal in Rio and it's in a decline since their best result in 2004. The addition of new sports should help a little, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't reach top 10 (the first hosts since Greece to do so). I really don't know what to expect from them but maybe they'll do amazing like at the Olympics.
  18. I though it was a pretty monotonous ceremony, but given the circumstances they did a good job. The one thing I can claim about Rio 2016 is that we had an amazing Paralympics opening (the best ever in my view).

Better late than never I guess, but I wish the para sports federations could be faster with their updates - I even emailed some of them like World Boccia, which didn't reply and just announced a provisional entry list hours ago.
