  2. Following the expulsion of spectators from the World Cup event in Nové Mesto na Moravě (5-8 March) due to the spread of coronavirus, the International Biathlon Union (IBU) has taken further preventive measures. There will be no press conference at the venue and journalists will have to maintain a minimum distance of one and a half meters from athletes in the mixzone. As SID reported on Tuesday, there will be no formal ceremonies after the race, the only one being a short flower ceremony to award medalists. The entire VIP sector will remain closed, disinfectants will be added in the sanitary facilities. The Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš announced on Tuesday that the government plans to compensate the prganizing committee for the loss of profit.
  3. For Slovakia Every person arriving in Slovakia by plane (slovak or foreigner) is tested directly at the airport, if he / she has an elevated temperature then he / she undergoes more precise tests. Government Regulation working since last week. Random checks and tests are also carried out at the Austrian and Ukrainian borders. Directly In the country, 211 people have been tested (2 times with all samples send to Germany) who reported being in risk areas or experiencing similar symptoms, all of which have been negative so far. Obviously it is inevitable Corona will arrive to Slovakia as well sonner or later, everyone knows that, I am just pointing that even if I don´t agree and support our previous government in many cases in this one I must admit we are just really doing some good job in trying to prevent or minimalize the eventual epidemic IMO.
  4. Still 0 cases in Slovakia, but it looks sometimes like we are taking measures like we're right in the middle of an epidemic For example today the city of Bratislava has adopted several preventive measures for the new coronavirus - COVID-19, which is spreading throughout the world. The Municipality started a complete and immediate disinfection of all public transport vehicles, instructed the members of the City Crisis Staff to be ready, purchased sanitary and disinfectants for all employees and ordered restrictions on visits to the senior citizens' establishments in the city to people who have recently visited the COVID- 19th zones.

I very well remember that interview after their 3rd consecutive gold in Beijing, "our goal was always to win 5 golds in a row, you know one for each of the 5 olympics rings, we have now three, London and Rio to come" that bronze in London hurts them so much mentally that they even failed to qualify for Rio as you certainly know very well

  13. Well, It is not the Czech federation´s decision, it was the Czech Government who decided after yesterdays first 3 cofirmed cases in the country and todays early morning sudden closing of some schools because of a teacher apparently being in contact with one of the patients. the Czech government subsequently banned to conduct competitions with the presence of fans.

  15. I remember that disastrous feeling during the Lillehammer Youth Winter Olympics when there were any Totallympics... So glad that the Totallympics project found new courage and desire to continue. Obviously many will argue the new version is not the original Totallympics with the main focus on all results from all different sports in one place lost (honnestly I am one of them...) but different circumstances forced us to take this new path. But obviously, it is very good that our community has not died out and we are moving on. Happy birthday Totallympics and to all our old and new Totallympians !
