  1. Well they use a lot of the same sources we do. Say what you want, but If you ask it’s probably the most correct list at this point. There’s 4-5 lists on this thread and they all contain different sports. At this I’m just assuming everything counts for Olympic qualification
  2. According to ITG, these are the sports that will offer Olympic qualification (or points towards that) @JoshMartini007 @Sindo “Athletics, rowing, canoeing, karate, swimming, weightlifting, beach volleyball, tennis, cycling, judo, wrestling, taekwondo, table tennis, fencing, sports shooting, archery, badminton and triathlon will all offer chances to qualify for next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo.”
  3. Yeah your right about them only showing the games on the TNT feed. That’s just wonderful because I’m almost certain that’s not available outside of Morocco. Supposedly the Olympic Channel is covering games, but they haven’t posted any schedule yet.
  4. @phelps There were South Africans at 2019 Worlds by the way
  5. Good for Bruna. How were the skis? I’d imagine that was part of the issue with her not being able to keep speed with the American.
  6. @bestmen and @thepharoah sorry to bother again. I have no way of translating this because it’s a TV ad. All I could do was screenshot it, and ask nicely for an English translation. I’m assuming that it says they’ll broadcast the opening ceremony of 17:00 local time tomorrow?
  7. Also, not to be lost amongst my complaints. won a gold medal in Judo!!!
  8. I will say the one thing they got completely right is the branding for the games. Good promos on YouTube, and the graphic design of the banners at the venues is probably the best of this cycle (although every continental games had great design this time around).
  9. Well part of the problem is that Brazzaville 2015 was very successful, had streaming that is still viewable to this day, and had a well functioning website. I understand that African faces serious challenges, but I feel like the fact Samoa 2019 had a more functional website is a bit embrassing. The 2019 African Beach Games were highly successful too. They had a great website, acceptable streaming, and live results. I just feel like there’s zero information available about these games. I could look many places and find what I needed to know about the 2019 Pacific Games. That just isn’t the case here. I just expected more from Morocco. I watched them host a very successful gymnasiade last year. I guess I was just expecting too much from a country that hosts world class events quite often.
  10. Or when your countries main user over reacts to losing like 2 gold medals
  11. The amount of information available for these games is killing me. The website is down right useless for any real sports fan. There’s almost no way to watch the games. The social media of the organizing committee is very unhelpful. It’s a shame really, because I was looking forward to the last continental games of the 2020 Olympic cycle. It looks like I might have to watch the Parapan American Games and Mediterranean Beach Games over this. Unless the organizers get their act together.
  12. Thanks for the responses . I have a very exciting interview dropping later today or tomorrow.
  13. I’d like to know a few things for research, so if users could answer my questions by quoting this post that’d be great . A few quality control and enhancement questions: How often do you read Totallympics Media? Do you see Totallympics Media as a legitimate news source? Would you be willing to read Totallympics Media more often? How do you prefer to receive sports news; written articles, audio service, or video services? What would you like to see more of on Totallympics Media?
  14. Forget Tchoukball, Italy has a world champion in a non-Olympic sport this week (although slightly more main stream than the other two): https://games24.totallympics.com/?p=472
  15. If we look at Africa, here’s a quick breakdown. South Africa hosts competitions yearly. In fact their national championships acted as the African qualification for YOG. They would be the favorite to take the quota should they except it this cycle. South Africa is also the only full member of the IFSC on the African continent. There is one associate member though. Cameroon could potentially show up and win a free spot. I never seen a climber compete from Cameroon though, so that is a very small possibility. There are some more African Climbing federations at the continental level. Algeria, Rwanda, and Senegal all are full members with the African Climbing Federation. I’m sure they’d be allowed to qualify should they show up. Once again, I’ve never seen a climber from there, so the possibility is small. The last chance is Botswana. I have seen a climber from there post results as recently as 2 years ago. If that climber was to show up at the African qualifier the quota would almost for sure be theirs. So I wouldn’t write off African qualification just yet, there are a few possibilities out there.
  16. I think this belongs in this thread. I don’t know how responsible the crew is for this though.
  17. I think it we’ll be incredibly hard to declare either group domestic terrorists in the US. Besides the obvious, left or right being made mad their semi-paramilitary group no longer exists, but the other sides does. I also think a law/declaration like that would receive legal challenges that might beat it. That’s because our constitution allows for (and this is completely true with no loopholes whatsoever being used) armed militias outside the army. These groups could simply go to court and get a law like that lifted because of their “protected” legal status.
  18. Well they aren’t sure playing anything today
  19. To rewrite a Trump quote “There’s bad people on both sides”. A democratic candidate will not win on that platform though. I think the democratic candidate will have to swing far left to win the primary, and then just not be worse than Trump to win they election. People on left hate these white supremacy demonstrations, most won’t have a problem with white supremacists getting beat up.
  20. They invited the violence themselves: They essentially said Antifa is problem for white supremacy, so Antifa made itself a problem for white supremacy. Technically, both groups should most likely be classified as domestic terrorist, especially the “Proud Boys” and “Patriot Prayer” (the two most conservative names anyone has ever come up with). Trump is threatening to declare Antifa as terrorists, but he won’t declare the reoccurring instigators as such because they vote for him
  21. Well the “Proud Boys” got what was coming for them. I ashamed that these people resolved to use violence, but it’s like slapping a nazi.
  22. One last aside - watch a koala become best canoe athlete Now seriously, Biathlon talk
  23. I’ve never loved an animal more:
  24. Oh wait, you’re right? The website is now showing some different medalists than it was this morning. I wouldn’t take it as official yet, but it looks like they have!!!
