How dare they celebrate a shared achievement . What’s next? Are they going to shake hands on the podium? Would they even go as far as to take selfie together?
Miho Nonaka decided not to compete in the lead semifinals in order to rest for the combined. She is struggling with minor shoulder injuries though, so I don’t blame her.
Very physical walls in the semifinals. I think the route setters did a great job. Both routes are fun to watch. We may not see any tops, but the routes should definitely differentiate the good and the bad.
@phelps and @Laraja I meant to ask earlier but forgot, but do skaters qualify a quota by name or for their NOC. Put simply, if skater qualifies, does that skater have to go, or could NOC choose someone else?
That’s what I though too. They also dropped Aerobic Gymnastics from the last edition which is a real shame because after acrobatics that’s my favorite discipline . The organizers made some weird sport choices, but I kind of excuse them from criticism on the program because they only know they were hosting the event around this time last year. They couldn’t really plan anything or build a sports program based off research. I think they just went with the Olympic program as a base and deleted events they had no clue about hosting, or knew Morocco or Africa wouldn’t be good at. Snooker only got added because they President of the international federation (or at least the African one) is Moroccan I believe. Chess is always the on the program when multi-sports events are hosted by Morocco.
Sorry to bother again, but is there an article or something that says that? Or are you just assuming that’s the case? I haven’t seen anything, besides a dead link on website, suggesting they’ll be streaming online.
India’s victory does say some positive about their currently developing program though. It shows that they do have some young talent amongst their ranks.

I’m most worried about the Cook Islands, Lebanon, and Angola. The rest of these nations do have some good potential to qualify a few athletes here and there.
As an athlete I personally loved competing with background music. Especially as an Endurance athlete, it was nice to able to take my mind off the pain.
As an athlete I preferred an empty stadium with background music, to a stadium full spectators.
@JoshMartini007 @intoronto Sean McColl is looking like he’s on great form to qualify for the next Olympics here. I don’t think his speed times are terrible...

All the matches among the top tier finished 3-1, which means positions aren’t quite as set as I once thought.
