  1. I beginning to think that the GOP watched Chernobyl, and thought “yes, those comrades are telling the truth, they are the good guys”. I mean we’re almost some of lies the Soviets tried to sell over the years. You can hear the staff of show laughing in the background about 10/15 seconds into the clip!
  2. To be fair, most already were based off their decisions in Latin America, Asia, Oceania, and at home.
  3. How does it work then?
  4. It is. It was at time in which we still failed to admit that Native Americans were people just the same as us. I wish we would revoke those, but obviously Trump is probably pro-Genocide so...
  5. True, the Japanese biggest weakness was their wooden cities. Unfortunately civilian bombing was pretty common in all places where WW2 took place.
  6. Right, but I was just saying that I acknowledge those events took place, and had an impact on millions of people.
  7. Just be on the record about this. Yes, the US has committed multiple genocides itself. We killed nearly all of our native population, and have run campaigns that looked to destroy Italian and Irish immigrants in the past. We also dropped an atomic bomb (2 in fact) on people who didn’t not deserve, and we killed people in Vietnam. All those events are absolutely wrong, and 100% factual. I’ve been to a Japanese Internment camp, it was a very emotional experience. I’ve been to the Holocaust Remberance Museum, again a life changing experience. However, never once have I felt the need to deny that any of these events happened simply to make my country look better internationally.
  8. The Royal family of Sweden awards the Nobel Prize (in the ceremony). A figurehead is still part of the government. Most of his controversial views are on full display in his literature. Look at the titles of the some of his works, and then look up some famous viewpoints he takes in them.
  9. Just wanted to share this:
  10. I don’t want to start anything, but this definitely a skit about @brunamoura and @heywoodu right?
  11. One of the American ski commentators has now coined the phrase “It’s not over ‘till the Czech lady skis”. Officially my favorite phrase in winter sport.
  12. @hckosice did they sing the national anthem, or the old anthem? I don’t know either, I don’t even know the words to Canada’s or Mexico’s.
  13. I would wait for confirmation on that. Hopefully @JoshMartini007 (the master and supreme overlord of Olympic qualification) may grant us a vision.
  14. PSA: Should anyone ever get Ester’s number, please promptly send it my way. She is the one female athlete crush I’m going to allow myself.
  15. That’s a question for @Griff88. If Alpine Skiing was on the program, yes. Can’t really think of any other chances. In the back of my mind, I know there’s something I’m forgetting, but oh well.
  16. God I love Ester . Finally got round to watching a race tonight, choose a good one. Best winter sports athlete hands down.
  17. They do not. I’ll question the integrity of any government, it’s my job as a person. I do, and more people should. History is looking more like wants to repeat itself. Learning about genocides should be required in every country. I would also say that the remaining family members and friends of those killed still do. I do, it’s a very interesting conflict. Again more people should be aware of what’s happened and what’s happening still.
  18. Major drama drama in the upcoming Nobel Laureate ceremony (the prize for literature). The author that was awarded the prize is a Balkan Genocide denier. Basically, he supports what Serbia did, and believes the genocides carried out by Serbian forces against the ethnic Bosnian Muslims didn’t happen. He is on record saying what happen at Srebrenica didn’t happen, and that foreign journalists were responsible for Serbians problems during and after the war. So, this week the only member of the Nobel committee who experienced the Bosnian War, said that he will boycott the ceremony. This was swiftly followed by the government of Kosovo who will also not attend the ceremony. I expect that Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Slovenia will all boycott the ceremony too. I don’t get it. Why do we continue to reward people like this? We see more and more denial of the Rape of Nanking in Japan, the Internment of Japanese Americans in the US, Holocaust denial all around Germany, Genocide denial in Turkey, Genocide denial in the Central African Republic, Genocide denial in Serbia, Genocide denial in the US. Why do we allow people like this to continue to gain prominence? I just don’t understand. I was under the impression that we all thought Genocide wasn’t good for humanity. Clearly, I’m wrong because a good portion of the world seems to think it’s the solution to every problem. I just can’t with people anymore. I totally agree with Kosovo on this one. Serbia was responsible for war, and committed multiple war crimes which they were never properly punished for. People continue to allow Serbia to paint this picture of themselves as the good guys trying to keep their country together. That’s simply isn’t true. The Balkan Wars were long and complicated, and it can be hard to find the truth often. However, one of the very little amount of things that is factually accurate is that the Serbian military carried out multiple genocides in Bosnia and in Croatia. The UN is complicit in this as well. Dutch peacekeepers knew of plans for the Genocide on Srebrenica, and the UN would not allow them to evacuate Bosnia Muslims. The government of Sweden will also be complicit for awarding a man who denies any of this happened. It all happened, it’s all fact. There wasn’t any innocent people in the Balkan Wars expect for the civilians that were massacred throughout the war (By Serbia, by Bosnia, and By Croatia) Serbia’s continued to denial of it is sickening. Cheering for them is like cheering for Nazi Germany in my eyes.
  19. Ladies and Gentlemen, the greatest of all Twitter moments in 2019: I didn’t use the Totallympics Media account to Tweet because I didn’t want to post something that would offend our reporters, but if did... “We thank our audience for their continued support”
  20. @Wumo Two things. 1) I know you said you’d like to do one contest a month, but what If we have an event like the luge world championships that only last two days, and is relatively easy manage. Could we also do a second event that month then? 2) How do you propose to prevent us from always choosing the same events. I love Biathlon, but I’d prefer if that wasn’t our February contest every year (because that will be what will happen). Also, myself and @Vojthas are always down to promote contests, and help out the best we can. So if you ever need us, you know where we dwell.
  21. Climate Change has definitely been visiting for the last few weeks. We’ve had nothing but rain or snow for the last few weeks.
  22. Man, look at all those close games . Thank you and for one interesting game
  23. Well at least we found all these new things before we killed them all off.
  24. 5 days to go, still not a lot of people information available . I was hoping that these games would be streamed (like the last winter and summer editions), but I’m starting to think they won’t. I’ll be reporting for Totallympics Media as long as there’s some information available.
  25. Yeah it’s sad. The people who did such a wonderful job running the Olympedia Project seen to have moved on. English is well known in the region, and the games are quite loved, so that could be the reason for them having an updated page.
