  1. Paralympic marathons will stay in Tokyo.
  2. I’ve actually pushed through. I’m somehow still sitting here awake with about only 20 minuets to the start of the broadcast. Not much to film I’m afraid, but I’m invested at this point. I posted that earlier post too soon I guess (I got my times mixed up). I’ll do my best.
  3. I’m sorry, but I’m just too tried, and have some actual work to do tomorrow. Best of luck @brunamoura! Sorry I couldn’t help more @heywoodu
  4. I’ll be adding my own commentary if none supplied (and if I haven’t fallen asleep by then).
  5. So, record Bruna?
  6. Do you really need someone to record it?
  7. Not impressed with , they should be sanctioned for this quite frankly. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/11/world/europe/nigerian-migrants-croatia-table-tennis.html For those too lazy to read (or not wanting to make an account: Essentially two university students were in to play in a table tennis tournament. They suffered early eliminations, and decided to explore the country since their visas were still valid. They went to Zagreb (though personally I would have chosen Split, Dubrovnik, or “King’s Landing”). During their last night in Zagreb they were arrested (violently) by police, and not given the chance to fetch their belongings/passports even after questioning. The next morning they were driven to the Bosnian border, and just left there. Croatian police are accused of forcing them across the broader at gunpoint (a fairly typical practice that’s come under fire from the UN apparently). Now the Bosnians are holding them in detention since they don’t have visas to be in Bosnia. Records do show that the Nigerians had valid visas to be in Croatia, and did in fact participate and get eliminated from the tournament early. Now and are fighting over who’s responsible for them, while the Nigerians are held in a cell. Oh, and by the way, the Croatian police stole their belongings, so the athletes can’t even call home to get help from the Nigerian government. Not impressed to say the least. Extreme case of xenophobia on display from Croatia here. You can’t be deporting athletes who are on valid visas and participating in international tournaments. Shame on .
  8. Am I still the only Totallympics member for sure going to the games? Pretty much ready 8 months out, which is a great feeling. Got good accommodations, flights, and some tickets. I don’t know what’s going on, but excitement finally started hitting me today.
  9. Time to smash those bulbs!
  10. Washington Post is reporting that Senate Republicans will try to conduct the Senate Impeachment Trial in about one day. Supposedly they will call zero witnesses, and barely even deliberate the charges. ? I mean at least call witnesses. Even and call witnesses to their trials.
  11. The broadcast intro sucked, but I really started to live for these awesome animations
  12. Being as the race starts at 01:30 here, I think I’ll have to pass this time.
  13. I knew the other codes, I was just trying to help problem solve
  14. Was rather expected, but a clear result nonetheless. The vote is non-binding. They will now have to negotiate with for independence. There is no time limit as to how long negotiations can take.
  15. M could be Moldova as well. They’ve had a few biathletes as of recently. Could also be Mongolia if they’re not on the list.
  16. Well this show is highly critical of the Catholic Church, so catholics not being into to it makes sense. The reason it appeals to me (an agnostic) is because it shows many of my criticisms of the church. While the show focus on a pope, or in this case two, it’s not really actually about a pope. The show is seriously dramatic and comedic, while asking serious questions about faith, organized religion, philosophy, and morality. I think the reason most people of faith don’t want to talk about their faith is because they know if they critically about it they’ll find holes, and that scares the living shit out of religious people. People who’ve thought critically about religion are the ones who no longer belong to a church. Religion takes faith and belief, and people who have seriously thought about their religion generally come to find a lack of one or both.
  17. Yeah that sentence has no meaning in English. Needed to say “Inaction won’t stop it either”, and even then, not a great statement. Maybe “Neither will doing nothing to punish these actions”?
  18. So excited for this. Really grew to like Young Pope towards the end. It portrayed many of problems in saw in my faith growing up. Seriously can’t wait for this season?show?!
  19. Watchmen has been super underrated. You either also enjoy most HBO shows or hate all of them. There’s not a lot of middle ground. You also have to like very political, racial, and otherwise challenging themes to enjoy Watchmen. A conservative would most likely also hate it because it does push a lot of liberal ideology. I haven’t watched “The Boys” personally, but it’s been recommended, and I have Amazon so I’ll get around to it soon. I do know that people that have watched “The Boys” say the “Watchmen” is better in their opinion. I’m not huge fan of those shows. I like the “new age” of television (Netflix, HBO, Amazon, Hulu). I like tv shows that feel more like movies, and tell better more complex stories. Huge fan of “Vikings”.
  20. Curling results will be available here: https://www.softpeelr.com/it-CH/tournaments/909
  21. It looks there will be livestreaming!!! They tried to livestream the first Curling draw, but ran into some technical issues, hopefully they’re able to figure it out within the next hour, so we can watch a match or two.
  22. Well it is a YOG year. Many will be trying to get their athletes some last minute experience I imagine.
  23. Cisse’s final . Arguably one of the most interesting 15 minutes of the games.
  24. That’s what I thought too, but Nike’s smart. I’m sure they’ve figure out a way for them to be legal.
  25. Nike will release their first ever, Swim Hijab in February. Athletes won’t be forced to choose between faith/culture or sport now . Plus, it looks pretty slick as well. I believe people can choose between buying the whole suit, the headscarf, the suit without the headscarf, and the leggings (which aren’t shown in the picture).
