It seems cruel to athletes to hold a “bronze medal final,” and then not award a bronze medal. Hopefully a situation like this is not repeated in the future.

just holds on against in rugby sevens. They played a great first half, and a not so great second half. Hopefully they play more like the first half going forward.

I can see people finding swimming a bit repetitive, but I don’t know what races you’ve been watching if you think there’s no action. There are a few events where one person dominates, but it’s not like that’s a phenomenon limited to swimming. I do agree that programs could be reworked to create more difference between events.

Something I do find annoying about swimming in general is the pacing of the finals sessions. Those medal ceremonies in between events really kill the momentum and hype of the session.

Pappoe getting off the bike around 15 minutes after Duffy’s finish. I think she’s quite inexperienced as the referee was explaining the course to her. Credit to her for trying to complete the race though.
