  1. I’ve never seen copies of the athlete diplomas uploaded the results system before: https://results.mun.mev.atos.net/ECM2022/resECM2022/pdf/ECM2022/ATH/ECM2022_ATH_C98_ATHWMARATHON----------W099_POL_14336154.pdf
  2. It is surprising what a difference 50m can make. It doesn’t seem like a lot in my head, but it clearly creates a track with completely different characteristics.
  3. I don’t know if For All Mankind is on people’s radar outside the United States, but I’ve found it to be a throughly enjoyable series. Third season started a bit slow for me, but there were some great moments and reveals towards the end of the season.
  4. Finally got around to watching Belfast. Solid film. Definitely deserved the recognition it got.
  5. Wrote an article about the growing issue of horror crashes last week: https://www.infobae.com/aroundtherings/articles/2022/08/01/olympic-champion-questions-safety-of-track-cycling-after-horrific-crash-at-commonwealth-games/ It seems near impossible to have a major event where there isn’t a horrific crash or incident at the moment.
  6. Might be worth noting here that the velodrome at the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle (SUI) is 200m. I haven’t watched any of the track cycling yet, so I don’t how the track in Munich behaves. I just thought it was a factoid worth sharing in this instance.
  7. How to classify this event is honestly the most confusing thing in terms of my results collection. Is it a multi-sport games or a bunch of individual continental championships? I haven’t made up my mind, so the results stay outside of my archive for now. Would be curious to know what other users opinions are on this…
  8. Two mixed gender canoe sprint events have been included (K2 200m, C2 200m), and there will be no 1000m events contested. 5000m events have been dropped as well. 9. Everybody is talking about the LA28 sports program, meanwhile, my reporting is streets ahead https://www.infobae.com/aroundtherings/articles/2022/08/10/lifesaving-eyeing-olympic-debut-in-brisbane-2032/
  10. I throughly enjoyed following these Games. The time zone difference and lack of an international feed (especially as there were some for the last two editions) was annoying, but overall I found this edition to be very enjoyable. Also, I think the venue branding was some of the best I’ve seen in a while.
  11. Sunshine Girls just gave themselves too much to do after the atrocious third quarter start. Still, a historic and noteworthy performance for them
  12. definitely left the lane on the first exchange. It will be interesting to see if will protest that and/or the photo finish.
  13. bring the down curtains on athletics with a photo finish! take a home gold!
  14. A couple of first in the field events this evening. Brume becomes the first woman to jump 7.00m at the Games, while Nadeem becomes the first man to throw the javelin further than 90m.
  15. holds off to win the first ever gold medal in women’s cricket. It’s been a terrific Games for the “Green and Gold”
  16. I just watched a replay of men’s 400m final. What an epic final 100 meters for Samukonga
  17. Nice final set between and still the only nation to win a men’s beach volleyball gold medal at the Commonwealth Games.
  18. wins the first para swimming gold medal. They’re having to race under the “factoring/points” format, which means he won the race despite not winning it outright.
  19. Watson threw away a gold medal as far as I’m concerned. I think that move would have made it, and he would have beat Culverwell at least gets a medal at worst in that scenario…
  20. Gate wins a hectic final sprint! doesn’t get a medal, which is justice for Culverwell . How incredibly embarrassing for the hosts. They had three riders in a group of fifteen, and couldn’t make a decisive move or win the sprint.
  21. acting like they’ve won the World Cup after beating for bronze in beach volleyball I’m happy for them, but the commentators could afford to be more impartial on the international feed.
