In the PDC it'd be the first full Dutch final, yes. In the BDO there's already been Klaasen vs Van Barneveld which was won by qualifier and rookie Klaasen.
To be fair about the women: they are 'underestimated' because generally they just don't play very well. An average over 90 is rare, often times one doesn't even see it go over 80. Mikuru Suzuki won last year's final with an average of 90.12 and that was the highest ever (!) for a women's final. In the quarterfinals she beat Sharon Prins where Suzuki and Prins had averages of 61.70 and 59.10, which - honestly - is just absolutely godawful. There are probably three women who are capable of playing at a decent level for more than a few legs, Sherrock, Lisa Ashton and Suzuki, maybe Anastasiya Dobromyslova on a good day. Lorraine Winstanley, Deta Hedman and Aileen de Graaf are all top-8 players but incredibly up and down. Now there's 15-year old Beau Greaves who qualified for the BDO world championships and is the 6th seed there, let's see how that goes.
