  1. And a quick Twitter search for 'kamehameha' suggests half of Brazil is still up and watching
  2. Queiroz stepping onto the podium with a kamehameha (for those who know)
  3. Which is what I need because I've still got things to catch up from yesterday One and a half more day, hanging on like the Hungarian K-4!
  4. I closed my eyes for 10 seconds whilst listening to the introductions and was utterly convinced we were going to get the 400m individual medley final. Lack of sleep is starting to get me
  5. Whereas 8/9 Dutch golds came from racing events (no jumping or throwing or fighting or scoring and such)
  6. Bronze, like he had in Rio in this event. Let's see if this time, unlike in Rio, he actually passes the doping tests and gets to keep it.
  7. Oh wait, this whole canoeing wasn't in the Rio Olympics for women? Yeah ok, that's some good changes.
  8. Weather is looking excellent, no changes in the program and so here we go!
  9. Coming from someone who basically never watches this (especially outside of the Olympics): this K-4 looks so cool and is so freaking fast
  10. Out of curiousity, is Adolf a common surname in Hungary? I'd love him to win even if it's just so I can write a cheap-scoring headline about "Adolf takes Olympic gold" Just like ones in previous years about "Erdogan takes world title in weightlifting" and "Trump defeated by Iran" (which was snooker) Adolf is a surname I've never seen before though.
  11. Set quite a decent new national record, breaking it with a not-bad 44 minutes!
  12. And there's Salpeter in 66th, 21 minutes behind Jepchirchir and utterly exchausted. Excellent job on her finishing the race instead of recording a DNF though.
  13. Salpeter is still in the race by the way, going for +18 minutes or so
  14. Props for Mazuronak, let go of the group early, presumably because she felt that pace was too high for her, and caught up with most of that group later on!
  15. At roughly 15+ kilometers per hour, there is a bit of an advantage you gain from staying behind someone. Not as much as when the speeds are higher though, of course, I don't think it'll matter that much here.
  16. Ah no, Salpeter, I had hoped she'd make it Totally different than for example the Kenyans running for Bahrain, who of course just run there for the money...
