  1. Horrible day and a horrible week for Belgian cycling, with Daan Myngheer (22) being in a coma after a heart attack during the Criterium International.
  2. José Been (press officer of Wanty-Groupe Gobert) on Dutch radio 1 minute ago: "No, he has not died. These reports are premature."
  3. Still doesn't take away the fact that there is a ridiculous amount of motorcycles and cars around today's races..
  4. Apart from the official team account, I would only really trust this one: https://twitter.com/TourDeJose/with_replies She's their press officer and is of course well informed in this case.
  5. CBDN released the criteria and qualifying standards for Brazilian cross-country skiers for the 2017 World Championships: http://www2.cbdn.org.br/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/WSC2017-CC-Criterios-final_v2.pdf
  6. Belgian media announced his death a while ago, but that was just based on the other cyclist (David Boucher). After that, his team wrote a tweet saying he is in "serious condition".
  7. To be fair, it looks like it's not the fault of the motor rider. Eye witnesses apparently said Demoitié fell and then got hit by a motorbike who couldn't avoid him anymore.
  8. Nothing is normal today. Another crash with a motorbike! Antoine Demoitié (BEL) of Wanty-Groupe Gobert is today's victim in Gent-Wevelgem and according to his team he is in "extremely serious" condition in the intensive care unit. Another Belgian cyclist has even already said "RIP Antoine" on Twitter, suggesting he has died...so far his team hasn't confirmed that..
  9. Unbelievable. They played horribly in the first quarter or so (I mean, they were just as good as Spain, but they missed every single chance whereas Spain scored every single chance) and that was just too much to make up for Even when they dominated Q3 and it seemed like they were coming back, Spain did well to use a 2-woman-advantage to get their lead back. Unfortunately Spain apparently didn't make a lot of fouls, at least not so many fouls as our girls made.
  10. But most matches don't even have extra time or penalties, so I really don't see how that can make someone not like team sports
  11. For example for all the many times favourites had already lost before there were even penalties or extra minutes played? It's the same as saying "I don't like tennis because the favourite usually wins in the 5th set". Well yes, the favourites usually win, that's why they are the favourites
  12. I'm missing the point of what this in your sentence means One team winning and one team losing? Doesn't the same kind of thing happen in individual sports, where someone wins and someone loses?
  13. Given that there wasn't a clear favourite in this match, I'm still hoping for Greece to win Well, "hoping", I don't care so much, but I'm not the biggest fan of Russian sports.
  14. Siegfried Mazet has left the French team after 8 years of being the very succesful shooting coach. The French federation is angry and rumours are he is going to Norway.
  15. Actually those people are very much more pro-Italy than pro-Russia, so in a match Italy - Russia they would definitely support Italy (meaning they have nothing against Italy) It's just weird that "Italy getting help from referees" is a theme that comes up at every water polo tournament apparently. I would say this whole thing smells a little Again, I'm not blaming the Dutch results on the referees. They should have won the ticket in the Euro final in the first place, then they shouldn't have given away a big lead against Russia in a matter of minutes...
  16. Good to see Sarita Devi in this tournament, I thought she was still banned for not accepting the unfair decisions at the 2014 Asian Games..
  17. Well I hope your U17 team follows their example and also doesn't score a single goal today
  18. Why is it impossible to find video footage of the foul that led to the penalty for Colombia? Apparently there's quite a bit of fuss about it being nothing but a dive..
