  1. One of the very few normal decisions by ISU...not as extremely stupid as the horrible decision to have only one race to decide the 500 meters.
  2. Spain had Antonio Gomez Fernandez in the 70's/80's, who was extremely popular in the Netherlands for reasons like the way he skated the turns (only after a while he learned how to actually make a decent turn), but he never competed at the Olympics Pedro Causil is going really well in the past year and a half or so for Colombia, I have high hopes of him being a decent performer in Pyeongchang. Apart from them and India, also Brazil is having a young talent living in Japan, but he isn't near Olympic standards yet.
  3. Verstappen was asked "at least you got a point, is that something positive?" His answer: "I don't give a crap about that point." Also: "The team told Carlos to let me pass, but that didn't happen...I know enough."
  4. Oh yeah, there's him too, but somehow I can't get very interested in motocross
  5. I know, you have no idea how much I am looking forward to Moto3 Moto3 is almost always the best race of the weekend (Moto2 is often pretty boring and MotoGP is only sometimes interesting) so I always like it the most. However, this year it's even better because we finally have a real talent! I wish the clock would go faster
  6. I can also still hardly believe how good we are suddenly (since 1-2 years) going in motorsports We have Max Verstappen who is widely tipped as a very, very big talent and someone who has a huge chance to start winning races in the next few years. Then there's Michael van der Mark winning the World Supersport title in 2014, reaching some podiums in WSBK last year and already 3 podium finishes in 4 races this year. And now we have Bo Bendsneyder who destroyed the field in the Red Bull Rookies Cup last year and is looking very promising in Moto3 so far this weekend. Good years are coming, finally
  7. I'm still not over how incredibly frustrating this race was, I can't wait for the next one
  8. Team bosses all voted for that this morning, the F1 Commission is likely to ratify the change in the next days.
  9. There is no new qualifying format anymore, they're already changing it back
  10. I will rather watch Moto3 (Bo Bendsneyder!!), Moto2, MotoGP, World Superbike, World Supersport and F1 And tonight NASCAR and next week (?) IndyCar again
  11. Damn team, f*cking up Verstappen's race on his way to at least a top-5 finish Max was pretty frustrated all the time at the radio after that
  12. Silver for Schippers, as somewhat expected
  13. Incredible last throw by Michelle Carter And Bralon Taplin had a little case of an engine blow-up
  14. Our women's handball team is going to Rio Good month so far, with 11 track cycling quota being secured as well. Hopefully the water polo women can continue this next week (and who knows, maybe the men if they're in for a huge surprise ).
  15. I heard it actually was a pretty hard match against Japan in which we were often behind
  16. It doesn't help that the only male player I know of isn't playing for the national team anymore for years already if I'm not mistaken. Mark Bult was a huge fan favorite at Füchse Berlin 4 years ago, no idea if he still plays somewhere. At least the women are good
  17. That was a stunning women's long jump final...Reese exploding with 7,22 in her very last jump And what on earth was Konomo Kai of Japan doing with a full step behind the board at all three of her jumps?! Also an amazing 800m to close of the pentathlon, what a performance by Theisen-Eaton to take the gold, even though she had a little help from Mokhnyuk
  18. Luckily in the interviews they are all still focussed on Japan and definitely not celebrating like "we are going to Rio" yet
  19. I thought "Hmm maybe he is exaggerating, let me check"...this is the 5th consecutive year Weird indeed. I'm too sleepy for it, but in a magical world where the draw is indeed completely fair, how big would the chance (in %) be of this happening 5 consecutive times?
  20. Eberhard shoots clean for the first time since a little over 5 years Awesome to see him do that and finally win a big race!
  21. If he indeed tested positive at the OQT and FIVB lets Russia still go to Rio, we know the deal. The rules stated pretty clear that 2 positive tests for a team = DSQ. The impact the player had only matters when it's about one positive test, not when it's about multiple. He played, so he was part of the team, even if it was for only 5 seconds. (I think someone posted these rules somewhere up in this thread)
  22. Oops I put the first few names in the list but after some minutes I lost interest for today so I'll continue another day
